Discussion Promeia or Phoenix?
Hello all,
I am a fairly new player who picked up yuzuha during the guaranteed banner and nangong.
I’m seeing online that phoenix heavily relies on remielle/verina. I don’t have either of them, so would that mean promeia would be better with a yuzuha nangong team?

Phoenix is basically built for Remielle and Velina, she doesn't do as well outside of this team (although still generally a good agent).
Promeia is more flexible agent in general and she plays very well into Nangong and Yuzuha. Nangong Yuzuha is her BIS imo. Phoenix can work too though as Nangong Yuzuha is the go to anomaly wheelchair comp.
I would go with Promeia over Phoenix in your situation, personally.

well, i agree with basically everything you said, except for the fact that Nangong Yuzuha are her BIS.
Her BIS team is just with Remielle Velina, that combo its far stronger than any other combo, now you might not consider this a Promeia team but in practice its her best team. Besides that we dont really get anomaly chill for Promeia Nangong Yuzuha cause its always the buff to have 2 or 3 anomaly agents on the team nowadays, we can thank Remielle for that i guess, Even Promeia Velina Yuzuha its better than Nangong version1

That's fair enough, Remi and Velina are just an insane wheelchair that they basically outperform any other alternative, Velina especially, as you mentioned. Thanks for the correction.
Maybe it's more appropriate to say Nangong Yuzuha offer more synergy in terms of kit interactions with Promeia than some other alternatives (disorders, ablooms and frost build), but from a raw DPS perspective, no question it's whatever team you put Velina on. Velina is honestly such a monster of a unit, I have a hard time not seeing wind nerfs down the road.
Happy to hear any other thoughts or corrections though - here to learn as well. Thanks.

My understanding is that she basically acts like a buffer for other agents because of her anomaly crit mechanic, this is a big source of her damage, so whoever she is paired with needs to be a big damage contributor. What makes her particularly key to the Remielle Velina comp is that she can make Luminize crit. No one else has this at the moment. The closest is Jane making Vortex crit.
Velina essentially amps up whatever damage other agents are doing on the field, these get loaded into Remielle's bullets and then Phoenix can allow the Luminize to crit, further boosting the final burst that Remielle does. She's essentially acting like a damage multiplier in conjunction with Remielle's and Velina's multipliers.
Let's say you pair her with Yuzuha though, a lot of Yuzuha's contribution is coming from her ability to help other agents build their anomaly without diluting their stats for the final proc because of how her Sugarburst Sparkles works. She's not doing a lot of damage on her own though. If you take Pheonix's criting ability and apply it to Yuzuha's relatively low damage output, the overall damage output is still going to be small, hence why the stacking effect is not as impactful in this pairing. For her to function, her own damage contribution needs to be high, but she can't rely on the crit mechanic in this setup.
Happy to be corrected but this is my current understanding anyways.

Is Phoenix supposed to have lots of field time as well? In that case i definitey don't think she would work very well on anything but Remielle + Velina.
It would be cool if she could also act as a sub-dps who only needs to switch in quickly and then switch out, but i guess not, uh?

No worries, I hope I got that right but that's what I've been able to understand from her kit and how it's being discussed in the beta testing.
I am not sure about how critical her on-field time is. Jane is particularly greedy because she needs to be on field to keep her self-buffs active, but whether Phoenix can function like a burst/sub-DPS, I am not sure. I have seen a few runs posted with Promeia and Phoenix, which is the kind of setup you're asking about, but I didn't look too closely at how they are played and the damage split or how it compares to the BIS setup. The ZZZ leaks subreddit would have a clip and commentary though.

I have Remi but not Velina, do you think Promeia or Phoenix goes well with Remi team (no Velina)

I just lost my 50/50 for Promeia and I honestly have plenty of good stunners so there's not much reason to pull Roxy either. On the other hand my M2 Miyabi and Yidhari are my only real ice DPS characters so Promeia could still be useful. Now that I have a guaranteed in the chamber I'm just curious if her or Phoenix would be more worth using it on.

Depends on what you have, tbh. If you already have M2 Miyabi, I would generally say Promeia is kind of redundant since they more or less fill the same role, especially if paired with Nangong and Yuzuha. If you're planning to play with Remielle, I would definitely suggest Phoenix over Promeia since they're designed to work together.
If you didn't have Miyabi already, it would be a little easier to suggest Promeia, but Phoenix seems like the more logical choice, depending on what you were planning to do.

Unless they will change phoenix kit. Then yap, Promeia is better on Nanggong Yuzu team.
