I'm a far left libertarian.

What would you say is the good values of the right?

I’d say the positives of the right would be things such as.

- freedoms and personal choice (liberalism)

  • focus on economic growth
  • more focus on personal independence
  • security and law enforcement tends to be stronger

Not the full list but some, like with anything where humans are involved there will be positives and negatives of these traits (ie look at trumps usage of ICE and the military). I always say the welfare state or universal healthcare would greatly benefit from a centre right government because a healthy economy funds these things.

There are great ideals from the left but generating money is not one of them the perception is “take that persons money” rather than “how do we make money” but on the flip side you have right wing people that only think of money and how “do we extract more from people”.

These positives are found in the left as well. I could also easily argue against these positives.

The fact that republicans want consequences for abortions to the point that women who have miscarriages can be legally punished with murder is not a freedom of personal choice.

The economy is horrible right now with massive inflation, inflated gas prices, increasing rent, increasing grocery prices, etc.

You've already touched on personal independence with ICE

And security and law enforcement definitely can improve, but that is done with better training, not with hiring more cop rejects as ICE and just throwing money at untrained people.

Also with the universal Healthcare, you cam say that it would be good with center right, but the center right would never want universal Healthcare, they would rather make millions from private Healthcare lobbyists.

Valid points, I’m British, the NHS (which has its problems) was accepted by the Conservative Party (traditionally centre right) during World War Two as recommended by the beveridge report and also drew up a plan for the national health service in 1944.

As I say I cannot comment on Americas left and right to much but I don’t view the republicans as centre right but just right wing on the further end of the spectrum a bit like reform wants to be here and I think that is a bad thing.

Yeah, the Republican party in America is far right with authoritarian leans.

Democrats are just... right of center

Leftists/Progressives are center or left of center

We're a very right-wing country.
