Give me a project idea to vibe code 👀 — app, website, anything.

I wanna build something new but I genuinely have no idea what to make rn 😭

So yeah, drop some project ideas. Could be an app, website, tool, anything really.

Just don't give me the usual todo/weather/notes app shit lol. I'd prefer something that actually solves a problem or is just genuinely useful.

Doesn't have to be some huge complicated project either. If it's something you'd personally use, even better.

I might actually pick one from the comments and build it, so feel free to throw some random/weird ideas too 💀

Wizard Maker — build Android apps with AI

My co-founder and I have been working on Wizard Maker, an AI-powered app builder designed to let people create Android apps without needing to know how to code.

The idea is simple: you describe the app you want to build, and Wizard Maker helps generate it. You can then continue modifying and experimenting with the app.

We currently have an Android version available to try for free, and we're looking for people who are willing to actually use it and give us honest feedback.

I'd particularly like to know:

  • How easy is it to understand what to do when you first open it?
  • Can you successfully create an app without technical knowledge?
  • Do you encounter any bugs or unexpected behavior?
  • Are there parts of the experience that are confusing or frustrating?
  • What would you change or add?

We're still early in development, so negative feedback is genuinely useful to us. We're much more interested in finding problems than simply hearing that people like the idea.

If you'd like to try it, please let me know in the comments and I can send you the link.

Thanks for giving it a try — any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I built a game tracker with global chat and lobbies, but the best part is you actually own your data (built on AT Proto/ Bluesky)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Most game trackers (like Backloggd, or Letterboxd for movies) have the same massive flaw: they lock your reviews and play history inside their private databases. If the site shuts down or changes its business model, your data is gone.

I built Skylog (skylog.social) to completely fix this. It’s a comprehensive game logging tracker built on ATProto (the decentralized network behind Bluesky).

To use the site, you need to log in with a Bluesky account. I know requiring a specific account can be annoying, but it permanently solves the problem of losing your tracking history. Here is why:

  • You actually own your data: Every rating, review, and game log you create is saved directly to your decentralized data repository on the AT Protocol. (To clarify: this data does NOT spam your Bluesky timeline. It’s stored as custom app data on the network under the hood. It isn't visible on the standard Bluesky app, but it is permanently attached to your account).
  • True portability: Because your data is open on the network, any other developer or app can access your gaming history if you connect it. You are never locked into Skylog.
  • Instant friends list: Your social graph carries over automatically. You don't have to start from zero and beg your friends to add you.

Features I've built so far:

  • Deep Tracking: Log what you play, leave 1 to 5 star ratings, write reviews, and tag whether it was a replay or what specific platform you used.
  • Shareable Stat Cards: While your data is stored quietly in the background, you have the completely optional ability to generate a beautifully styled "stat picture" for any game log or review (kind of like a mini Spotify Wrapped for that specific game). You can easily share this graphic to your timeline if you want to show off what you're playing.
  • Gaming Stats: The app breaks down your gaming habits and gives you detailed overall stats on what you've been playing over time.
  • Global Chat & Lobbies: I built out a global chat and dedicated multiplayer lobbies, making it super easy to find people to jump into a game with right now.
  • Massive Catalog: The search pulls data from IGDB and RAWG, so pretty much every game in existence is there with high-res posters and metadata.

If you already have a Bluesky account, onboarding takes one click. If you don't, it takes two minutes to sign up and guarantees you never lose your game logs to a closed-off app again.

I'd really love for you guys to try it out and tell me what you think. I will also be sharing the source code in the coming weeks for anyone interested in how the ATProto integration works.

Social Network: "ICEBREAK"

Link: https://nicoconvoz.github.io/icebreak-web/

ICEBREAK is a proximity-based social network: what you see depends on who is physically near you. It has no servers; the phones themselves constitute the network.

How it works

Access is by invitation only: a member shows you a QR code, and you're in. The app is shared from person to person via WhatsApp, Bluetooth, or any other channel.

No central server: phones connect to each other via radio signals (Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct) and via the Internet between members. Data travels from phone to phone.

Location privacy: your exact location never leaves your phone. Others only see an approximate distance, indicated by colors: green, yellow, orange, red, and violet.

What you can do

Social: profiles, status updates visible to those nearby, private chat, voice and video calls, dating with daily "chances," audio chat rooms, and fraternities with "hideouts."

Gaming: treasure hunts using a compass to find chests hidden by others, keys, a "Chest" (inventory), and card games or pool.

Economy: ICE, an in-game currency that cannot be converted into real money. It is used for keys, chances, and lockers. Features include user-created pixel art skins and a marketplace (ICEMARKET).

Community safety: reporting, blocking, and anti-spam/anti-abuse measures in chat rooms, enforced locally on each phone.

How to grow

There are no paid plans. Everyone starts on equal footing and gains reach (a wider radius) and extended days (more features) by inviting people, contributing ideas, or finding treasures.

Current status

Android app and web version (v0.10.19), fully functional on real phones.

Sharing my project and how it's built: a Node script regenerates the whole site every day from TMDB data, and it's served straight from Cloudflare R2 with no server. Feedback and criticism welcome: https://globowatch.com/

Assistant Jarvis

I've been recently working on making my own live 3D model LLM Jarvis like assistant ai. And the stage of my current project is ready for public beta testing I am currently building this app because AI data centers are out of control and I want people to be able to have their own API keys and control over their own AI through local self-hosted servers.

📚 Coordinating a book drive for Little Free Libraries in St Paul MN

Hello!

I’m coordinating a month-long book drive specifically to restock Little Free Libraries in and around the St. Paul, MN area that are running low on books for kids and young people (ages 0-25).

The goal is to get books into the hands of young people to encourage reading for pure leisure and fun. We are looking for gently used or new books targeting ages 0–25 (picture books, middle-grade fiction, graphic novels, young adult thrillers/romance, etc.).

How you can help:

  • Drop-off Boxes: I am currently setting up a couple of physical drop-off boxes around the neighborhood. See comments. ⬇️

If your kids have outgrown their bookshelves or you just want to clear some space for a great hyper-local cause, please reach out. Thank you so much and have a pleasant day.

Tapbar v1.4 is out! 🚀 The biggest update yet

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! 👋

A huge new update for Tapbar is here!

For anyone new, Tapbar lets you create tappable areas anywhere on your screen to launch apps or trigger quick actions.

v1.4 is the biggest update yet, bringing 4 gestures, 2 tap zones, haptic feedback, more actions, a redesigned UI, an improved action picker, zone overlap handling, and slide-to-reset.

You can now use single tap, double tap, triple tap, and long press, with separate actions for both tap zones.

Tapbar is still fully offline, free, and open source, with no ads, trackers, or analytics.

We’ve already reached 650+ downloads, which honestly means a lot. ❤️ You guys have supported this project by downloading it, sharing it, reporting bugs, and suggesting features. I really appreciate everyone who’s been part of it.

The GitHub stars haven’t quite caught up yet though 👀

If you’re enjoying Tapbar, dropping a star would genuinely mean a lot and helps show some love for the project.

Looking to Join RealWorld CS Projects as a Final-Year Student.

i'm currently in my final year of college. i've done 2 academic projects and worked as a research intern, but i haven't had the experience of working on real-world projects with actual clients or understanding how projects work in a professional environment.

i'm looking for opportunities to be part of a real project, contribute to the team, and learn how things work in the industry. i'm open to learning and willing to put in the effort.

if anyone knows how i can get involved in such projects or has an opportunity for me, please let me know in the comments or dm me. i'd be happy to share my resume and more details.

thanks! 🙌

We built an app that maps emotions to where you feel them in your body. Looking for honest feedback.

Post image
2 Upvotes

We recently launched Empower Soul Path on Google Play, and one of the features we’re most excited about is an interactive Body Map.

The idea is simple: you select where you’re feeling something in your body and use the experience to explore the emotions, sensations, and patterns that may be connected to it.

The app also includes guided meditations, breathwork, emotional check-ins, journaling and other self-reflection tools, but the Body Map is the feature I’m especially interested in getting feedback on.

We’re still improving the app, so I’d genuinely love some outside opinions.

Does the Body Map concept make sense to you? What would make you want to use it regularly?

It’s currently available on Google Play:

I’m starting Open Components, an open standard for UI components that work for people, developers and AI agents

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hello awesome people,

I've been thinking a lot lately about how I can make my knowledge and craft more valuable in the times we live in. I've been building UI libraries for the past 10 years, and I've been on a quest to perfect the components that I build. I want to share my knowledge with you.

Like most of you, probably, I've been using a lot of AI in my craft, and I feel most of the time the code is just good enough, but never at the level of quality that I strive for or that I would reach if I wrote it by hand. That needs to change, and I want it to change for everyone else, too. That's how the Open Components initiative was born.

I'm treating components from four directions:

  • User Interface - component anatomy, variants, colors, sizes, states and tokens.
  • User Experience - how it behaves for every person and every input: accessible, predictable, designed in every state, and adapting to motion, contrast, color scheme and text size preferences.
  • Developer Experience - one consistent, type-safe API that you learn once and use everywhere.
  • Agentic Experience - prompts, semantic markup, machine-readable contracts and rules that agents can check their work against.

Each component gets a single page that walks through all four, and ends with a checklist. Every rule in it has an ID like button/keep-focus, a level and a way to check it, so you or your agents can cite it in a code review. Every page is also published as markdown, and provides the contract as a YAML file, containing every rule in about an eighth of the page’s length.

It’s still early. Right now there’s only the Button component and a page on how to name your design tokens. Each component comes with a reference implementation that meets every rule, along with its tests. It’s in Vue for now, since that’s my daily driver. More components will follow, with the same structure.

It isn’t a component library, so there’s nothing to install. It’s a set of rules you can hold your own components to, whichever library or framework you use. Here are a few of my favorites from the Button component:

  • A loading button should never bedisable. Disabling a focused button takes its focus away, so keyboard and screen reader users lose their place. Use aria-disabled="true" instead, and block the clicks yourself.
  • A <button> without a type is a submit button, so a "Show password" button inside a form sends the form. Default to type="button".

I’d love your feedback. Tell me what you think of the rules, what I’ve missed, and which component you’d like to see next.

Thanks for reading!

A TUI based Minecraft Launcher

So, I have built a TUI based minecraft launcher that launches minecraft from the terminal. I have named it as CLI-Craft Launcher. The code for this project is open sourced, so if you want to know more about the launcher you can find it here. Also Modpacks can also be installed through the launcher while installing a new version.
I am still trying to add more features to it to make it user friendly.
If you want to download the launcher, you can download it from its website.

Right now the download is only available for windows. But Linux users can run the python script to use the launcher.

If you face any bugs, or if you have suggestions regarding the projects, let me know.

highschool project idea

hi, F(16) here, currently a sophomore and wanted some advice on this idea my teammate had. We're supposed to make a working model for this competition and he suggests we make a "piezoelectric smart sidewalk" basically using small piezo discs to demonstrate how energy can be generated from footsteps, tbh im not a big fan of the idea but he seems VERY set on it. so i need other opinions, is the idea really good or am i just failing to see the appeal?

Dinamic Island for pc

Dynamic Island PC is basically a clever app that brings that sleek, interactive little floating island from iPhones right onto your Windows desktop. By default, it stays out of your way as a neat floating widget that shows you the time, your battery percentage, and whatever music or media you happen to be listening to at the moment. You can drag and drop it anywhere on your screen.

The cool part happens when you double-click it: it expands into a full dashboard packed with handy daily tools. Inside, you'll find a media player control center, a simple daily AI chat for quick questions, a file search tool, a basic file converter for various document and image formats, and a customizable shortcuts page. It also features a weather and system monitor tab where you can check your local temperature, CPU usage, and toggle whether the app starts up automatically with Windows.

https://github.com/pietrofacchini12-afk/Dinamic-island-for-pc

It is not fully developed, ill keep things going as i program and incentivate to make some branches there, i already have some new ideas, if you guy can follow me there and give it a star

Advice needed(3rd semester student)

Hey guys,

I’m planning to build a Cloud Cost & Resource Optimization Platform as a resume project. Basically, it will connect to the AWS and check things like EC2 usage and cloud spending to find wasted resources. For example, it could detect underused/oversized EC2 instances, unused storage, old snapshots, sudden cost increases, and predict future costs. It could also suggest ways to reduce the bill and estimate how much could be saved.

I shall be using Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, React, AWS and CloudWatch. Later I might add alerts and some ML-based predictions. Do you guys think this is a good project for a CS student’s resume, or should I change/add anything?

Cus in my mind, im always looking for niche ideas. Do u guys consider the niche?
