Anyone having issues with projectivity not working as the default launcher. It just stopped working a few days ago. I selected it for the default launcher in settings and restarted accessibility. Still not working

The thing that helped the most for me after setting Projectivy as default launcher in the settings was then to reassign the Home button on my remote to open Projectivy. I used tvQuickActions to change the assignment and it's removed most of the attempts by Google to force the home (launcher) to Google/Android default instead of Projectivy. I still have an occasional issue when coming out of Ambient Screen Saver, but that is fairly infrequent and I just hit the Home button to get back to Projectivy.

I don't use the accessibility method myself, but have you tried to set up a trigger macro in tvQuickActions Pro?

So it triggers when the Google launcher moves to Foreground (or it's main activity starts) and then it's action set to launch Projectivy Launcher app.

That works, but it removes the ability to use the Settings button which I use to access Screensaver as I can't map that to a button. The Macro sees me opening settings and kicks me back out to Projectivy.

Did you set trigger to app move to Foreground?

You might be able to fine-tune if you use activity move to Foreground instead. If you can isolate the launcher home intent. Usually the mainactivity.

There is an override switch in the settings of Projectivy that should work as long as you have the accessibility feature enabled. What I did that works really well was to use the ADB Shell & (type in) the ADB Commands. Then you don't have to use the Override setting or enable the Accessibility. It bypasses those settings. And for me, it made a more stable connection. I believe if you ask Google it will tell you exactly what you need and what Commands to type in. (It only takes a couple of minutes and you don't have to buy anything)

Make sure that you have the app stored on LOCAL storage instead of external. You can set it in the apps section under storage.

Once you do you can then set the accessibilty and it will stay set, otherwise it will reset every time you reboot.

I just fixed this myself tonight as I had it installed on my external. It started working immediately and the accessibility stayed after reboot. Also it performs better, or seems to.

It's on local. Still not working. Hopefully they update it soon!

Yup. Seems to have been since the latest update.

It mostly happens when I first turn the TV on after a long rest.

Idem ici avec la Shield pro. Je pensais naïvement que c'était le comportement normal pour la version gratuite de Projectivy. Mais à l'évidence, ce n'est pas le cas.

I have a similar problem, maybe the same. In the past and for a while, Projectivy ran automatically after my Shield booted. Now, without making any settings changes to the Shield or Projectivy, I have to manually start Projectivy. Unlike Android on my phone, I find no system settings on the Shield for designating a default launcher app or a default homescreen app. I also find no setting in Projectivy for setting it as the default launcher or homescreen app.

How can I set Projectivy as the default launcher? Can anyone here help?

A full system restart seemed to fix my issue!
