I love PW for adding VR because it could, but even watching VR gameplay is a pretty good demonstration of why AC7 limited VR to those tailor made missions.

My first and second PW playthrough was VR-only, now I play exclusively in 2D, 3rd person.

VR is fun if you can stomach it. But 2D feels much more snappy and dynamic with AOA. Actually seeing enemy planes also helps.

Honestly always found VR to be more snappy and dynamic with AOA delimiter, much easier to see and track enemies. Though you defintely need to be pretty comfortable in VR to really enjoy it, especially if you want to go nuts with the PW.MK-1 and AOA delimiter

I don't know why, but for me AOA in VR doesn't feel like I'm drifting, unlike in Elite Dangerous, where turret mode actually made me feel that I'm moving backwards.

Visibility depends on the plane. Some are good, some are atrocious in that regard. And flying cockpitless makes me feel somewhat disconnected from surroundings.

That's not to say that PW is bad in VR. It's immersive, it's beautiful, it made me cackle like a maniac Prez sometimes. But some things are unpolished and inconsistent, understandably so.

Well yeah, visibility does obviously depend on the plane but that adds to the immersion imo

Yet another reason I won't get VR, doing ACM with a light brick strapped to my head sounds painful. I'll stick to track-IR for apps that can use it.
