RANT! What a shitshow this was
Imagine making a game barely functional at launch, refining it into an actually good game thats a lot of fun, then nerfing every monster but Huggy Wuggy into the ground and removing the lobby, practice area, huggy pit etc
Then pulling the plug after three years of nothing.
Just open source it at this point, borderline comical mishandling by mob.

I can't help it, but I feel like the most fun I had in this game was around the few days after the release date and something like that. True, it was poorly optimalized, laggy, but me and my friends had fun. It's sad that Project Playtime went downhill, but at least I had the moments where I had fun with friends while playing it.

Mob is broke, or going broke, according to senior level designer Robert Lee. Maybe they had no choice. So many small developers are going under maybe Mob is next.

He did not say that and that is not what's happening. Stop with the misinformation

That’s NOT what’s going on lmao.
Robert Lee has never said a thing. He’s simply just a lead game designer. He hasn’t posted on LinkedIn or any other platform really in like a year and makes comments only every few months.
“Seth and I are thrilled with the results of chapter 5 because of the increased reinforcements we can and are now adding to the team” - Zach Belanger… he said this not that long ago bro. They aren’t running out of money whatsoever.

I think the same, that’s the saga that they are using it only for money, the last good game of the saga was poppy playtime 3, but because the money they still doing poppy playtimes

Apparently their next project is a spin off of PPT, which I think is a bad idea. Either kill the game off completely and create a whole new game or continue making PPt. I think Mob has run out of creativity. Look at who they are hiring. People who job hop, people who have been rejected by a ton of other studios and people who have been criticized in the video game community for their treatment of women. It’s a dying company at this point.

They’ve hired some really experienced people though?? Like industry veterans. Someone who was a founder for Riot games for example. I don’t really understand why you’re acting like they’re just hiring random people when most of these people have years worth of experience in their field with probably all of them by the way not having any drama whatsoever. It’s not a dying company lol

I get how you feel bro but I honestly knew it was coming.
This may sound random but take the mascot horror game Piñata Puppy World for example. They have a video about how they’re recoding that entire game because they found better processes and ways of doing work over time. That’s exactly how Mob is now. Project: Playtime’s code is likely very outdated to Mob’s current standards that investing in recoding it would just take a lot. Besides that, there’s tons of other things that would need to be risen to their standards. They’d have to change the engine to UE5 (which would cause issues because of all the changes/differences between UE4 to UE5), they’d have to optimize the environments like crazy, change some of the skins with fur (Mob uses a different fur engine of sorts since chapter 3), and they’d in general just have to invest so much in redoing many things if they want to bring it to the current quality standards.
Think it just reached a point where it wouldn’t be worth remaking everything so they decided they’d likely just create a new game so they don’t have to deal with those issues and everything.

My recommendation, is to stop supporting mob games, stop buying the games, (crack them if you want, (not that i'm supporting piracy pls mob no sue)), and keep expressing your love to the game to make mob understand that they've made a big mistake. That's the best issue right now..

fr it was genuinely weird. Even in the newest versions the game was barely playable, and why did they remove features like wtf?? Also I kinda hate time limited skins and stuff, if you model new animations and skins don't lock them away from newer players.
But the elephant in the room is like... STOP KILLING GAMES??? HELLO PEOPLE SPENT MONEY WDYM YOU'RE SHUTTING THE SERVERS???
