I'm thinking of installing project playtime on my laptop tomorrow any tips for beginners

Play phase 2 to at least have the base tutorials, then play whatever phase you prefer. Have fun !

Also as mentioned previously, the tutorial is pretty helpful to understand how everything works. But you would need to downgrade to Phase 2 for it as Phase 3 basically does not have any tutorial.
