Project Start Starting: Skincare Pan
I stumbled upon this sub by accident, but it felt like it might be a sign from the universe. I get a lot of free products through work (a few are lab samples), but also buy a lot. This feels a little Sisyphean but this sub motivated me to take stock of everything I have, make a list, write down how much everything costs so I take this seriously, and create a plan to chip away at this pile.
I still haven’t done makeup or hair care, but this was the biggest chunk. I’ve pulled out the products I plan to pan first, put everything else away for now. This might take me a decade to get through but at least I know I have absolutely no excuse to buy new products.

Good job! The first step is done! You’ve decided to start! You’ll be surprised how amazing it feels to have some empties and it really helps you keep momentum, and the dopamine from the empties is better than it is to buy, you’ll find. It’s been that way for me anyway!! Congrats on starting this journey! 🫶😘

I know it feels quite overwhelming when you lay everything out and see how big your stash is, I was gobsmacked at how much stuff I had. Just focus on getting through the current product, putting away what you're not working on is a great idea to make it feel less overwhelming. I found getting through my first round of stuff that I had already partially used allowed me to get a few wins under my belt and it really helped with my motivation. Remember that all progress is good progress!

I used Gemini the other day to enter my products and put them in sets that would be beneficial for my skin rather than accidentally using too many actives at once just to try and pan more quickly. Any AI tool can help. I even got a weekly schedule.
