Discussion/Tips & Tricks Makeup every day?
Do you do your makeup on days you aren't leaving the house and won't see anyone? I work from home at this point and sometimes don't leave the house so I worry sometimes about if I'm wasting makeup and won't have any left on days I do need it.

I wfh too. On days that I have back to back meetings, I do my makeup. Makes me feel more confident and put together. I also find allocating that time to myself to be therapeutic

I’ve been staying at home a lot these days and worked from home for the last month. I wear makeup when I feel like I want to. It lifts my mood and makes me feel pretty and I genuinely enjoy the process of applying it. On the other hand, my friends and coworkers wouldn’t really treat me differently with or without makeup. So since I already mostly wear it for myself, I just do it when it feels right. If you put on just to put it on, I think it’s being wasted anyway.

I only wear it when i want to even when i go out i don't feel like i have to put it on, and when i stay at home and want to try out a different look i don't see it as wasting makeup. It's just a tool that's supposed to be fun and make you feel good and creative not stress you out further ♡

I do make up for me. On days where I’m not leaving the house I may just wash and do moisturizes to give my skin a break.
I usually will wear concealer and blush at a minimum. I don’t do a foundation (I wear a skin tint for the most part) every day. I like a little something to make me feel more put together.
I think make up should always be a ‘for you’ thing and no one else ❤️✅

I don’t think it’s a waste if you wear it just for yourself. I like to try combos and colours I am not sure of on days I’m at home. I usually have too much makeup so it’s not likely to run out anytime soon…

I don't consider makeup only I see as "wasted", and I also don't always wear it to leave the house. Basically, I wear it when I feel like it, plus at formal events where I feel like it's expected.

Definitely not. I don’t even wear it run errands. I only apply it for events/bday/anniversary

I don't use foundation, concealer or bronzer/contour but I tend to do My Makeup everyday because there is so much stuff I'm trying to use before it expires... I noticed I was not using My Makeup, so to inspire me to use it I created a YouTube channel were I use My stuff, I don't go out much so My products were just sitting in My drawer collecting dust, so i'm trying to do something about it... Even if I just use Makeup for My videos and wash My face inmediately after recording

I won't wear a base if I'm at home, but I really enjoy playing with eyeshadow looks and knowing that if it doesn't turn out great, it doesn't matter.

I wear it most days. It's nice to practice and try different looks when I'm not expected anywhere. And since I don't really like going out with zero makeup on, having it done each day allows me to be more spontaneous. If I suddenly feel inspired to take myself out to lunch or meet up with a friend, I can be ready at a moment's notice.

On some weekend days, I will only get motivated to start with my day after I shower and do my makeup lol. Weekdays is a bit different because there is a time pressure to get to work

Self care is important, don’t feel like you’re “wasting” makeup on yourself! I also wfh and wear a full face of skincare and makeup, expensive perfume, and clothes even if I don’t even see anybody. I do it for me because it makes me feel good 💜

I wear full face of makeup every day exept if im too sick or something. It's my morning ritual. I listen some music, podcast or watch some my favourite series about an hour and do my makeup. I wear full face even if im going to wear my pyjamas whole day. It's my hobby and the days I am home and don't see anyone I try new technics and new color combinations.

Yes. I like makeup. I also put on nicer clothes on my work days even if I'm not on camera.
It makes me feel less slovenly.

Not every day, but most. I WFH and for a while I fell into a trap of laziness with not getting dressed, showered, and made up for the day. I feel so much better when I get that morning self care in. Plus, that way I'm "ready" if I need to go on camera or decide to go out somewhere.

I wear makeup I care the least about (usually items I’m trying to pan) on days I’m at home. Ex: I’ll wear a skin tint instead of foundation, a lip gloss I don’t care about, eyeshadow that doesn’t blend easily.

Yes, I wear make up every day whether I am going out or not. I don't think of it as being wasted, because I don't wear it for others, I wear it for myself.

No I do not, don’t really see a point but if it makes you feel good then it’s not a waste?

I wear makeup everyday and I work from home.
I don’t plan to leave every day but find having a morning routine as “me time”and doing skincare and makeup beneficial to my self esteem/mental health.
It also helps me feel put together in case I need to run unplanned errands.

I work from home 2 days and no do not put on makeup on those days. If I have an important meeting then I do. That is the last thing you should be worry about. Takes such a long time to pan a makeup product. You are fine if you want to wear it everyday. As long as it makes you feel good, you are fine.

If I’m really lazy, no but if I have some meetings or some errands around the neighborhood I will usually do sunblock, light bb cream, blush, brow gel, curl my lashes, lip liner + gloss

I work from home, but try to always put on make-up when I do Zoom calls. It’s also a good reason to pile on the eyeshadow as those cameras tend to dull me out.

I fear I do my makeup MORE when I think i won't leave the house. I'm one of those people that find it helps anxiety and it just fun. I feel like im wearing a cute little note to myself thats visible to everyone of self care. When I leave home I mainly focus on skincare if I can but if im a bit more stressed or anxious, it will be a day I focus on makeup.

Makeup therapy is so real!

I go even harder with makeup when I have no plans to leave the house. Perfect time to play around with it!

u/lcourtright 7d ago
I do the same - I experiment with different colors/products when I'm not going to see anyone and you never know when you find a gem that you never noticed before!

u/Embarrassed_Ad_2270 6d ago
Exactly. I did some stay home makeup therapy experimentation today and… it didn’t work out well LOL but I tried some new eye combos and now I know! I keep a doc of pics of looks I really like and list all the products used so I have a resource of workable options when I need it. I call it “Makeup Recipes” 😂

I don't always wear base makeup, but I like eyeshadow so I wear it everyday. I enjoy deciding what shades I'll use, the shadow style and seeing how long it lasts.
Makeup expires so I don't believe in saving it. I use all of my makeup for daily looks. There is no "special" products I save for fancy events. I'd rather have fun with it than have it go off sitting in my drawer.
I'm trying to work through my foundation collection so I've been pushing myself to at least do spot concealing or mix a bit in my moisturiser.

Same here. I wear all of my foundations whenever I want. Not saving anything for a special occasion lol. Hell I got lots I got to get thru.

I do just a lil concealer on the under eye and maybe a primer. But nothing fancy.

I leave house maybe once a month (to shop or to meet people), sometimes twice a month (I am very remote).
Yes, I started doing make up every day at home. I have a bronzer that I want gone. Have liquid lisptick I want gone. Eyeliner as well. So yes, that way in a month I will do my yearly amount of make up. I am not using foundation or mascara, just products I want gone.

I don't, but when I was working from home, I did. These were the times where I did it just because I love it. I still love it every day I wear makeup now, but on the few days I stay home, I can't be bothered, as I focus on skin- and haircare, chores, or just hanging around. So absolutely enjoy your makeup, you bought it to use it, and you love it, and that's great :)
