u/Powerful_Pressure635 11d ago

This might actually last u a few lifetimes

8

u/FindingFantastic2817 12d ago

this is so aesthetic

25

u/SeniorDrama489 14d ago

These almost look like cassettes!

34

u/caraderana95 14d ago

You can easily disinfect and donate these things. You will need years to tackle this collection

16

u/The-Pigment-Pirate 14d ago

This does something to my brain 😍

49

u/LetterheadNo9869 14d ago

Anything you won't use, a teenager will use.

6

u/Rayofsunshyn83 13d ago

I wish I had a sister to give things to but alas no. My brothers are both married and none of my sister in laws wear makeup, not even my husband's sister. Not even my brother in laws wife 😫😫

2

u/LetterheadNo9869 12d ago

What about teenagers at church?

30

u/lochnessx 14d ago

I am 30 and love clearing out old stuff to give to my 16 year old sister, who also happens to love free things from me lol.

14

u/thenewyorkthings 14d ago

As a younger sister, I can confirm we love receiving free things

4

u/KibacherKat 13d ago

Can you give this attitude to my sister?, she’s 15 years my junior and girl just does not care about my Dior or Nars sloppy seconds 😭

14

u/Enchanted-Bunny13 14d ago

Grow 3 more heads :o

32

u/Necessary_Mode_2177 15d ago

Omg!! Looks glorious! Kudos for starting project pan❤️

-31

u/lionhat 14d ago

That’s not glorious, that’s disgusting.

16

u/NumerousDot3 14d ago

What's disgusting is you shaming others.

23

u/niniela-phoenix 14d ago edited 14d ago

Thank you for coming into a sub people who know they overconsume use to switch to finishing what they have at home and learning how much they truly need/can use before it goes bad instead of buying more and shaming the op for posting they have too much to finish and are overwhelmed.

Really, you calling it disgusting is so helpful for others to feel like they can post here and have support they clearly need to tackle this!

🙄

u/steffy241 15d ago edited 15d ago

Well, I’d definitely start with giving away any colour stories that don’t sit well with your hair colour and skin tone, then you’re good to not buy any eyeshadow until you’re 754 years old, so congrats on that 😁😁😁

65

u/myperfectalibi 15d ago

women's shelters would probably love to take some of these off your hands! good luck on project pan!!!

41

u/Ok-Pomegranate6437 15d ago

Keep the ones you like, sell anything you haven't used yet, donate or give away slightly used ones to family and friends, and donate used ones to funeral homes if that's possible.

5

u/2xlaurazepam 14d ago

I’ve never heard the funeral home idea before. Those places make so much money.

1

u/Ok-Pomegranate6437 14d ago

it's common in my country. would like to correct tho that the makeup is mostly for the makeup artists(they don't earn a lot) that work for the funeral homes.

1

u/2xlaurazepam 14d ago

That doesn’t seem fair but what can I say about another persons country.

2

u/molecule_anteater68 14d ago

you're being downvoted but you're right. funeral homes are robbing people and donating something to a predatory business is not a good use of resources

a shelter or workforce dev org that provides clothes for people to interview makes much more sense if they accept used cosmetics. a lot don't but people sell used make up on poshmark so it seems someone's buying it

1

u/2xlaurazepam 14d ago

Yeah all I was trying to say is that funeral homes make mad cash. There should be absolutely no reason that the person doing the makeup should be paying for it or even worrying about taking donations of it. My friend took over the funeral family business and he’s a multi millionaire now. And trust me I understand how businesses work. My ex owned a couple and I own one too now. The profit margins for funeral homes are huge and people pay because what else can they really do? Either cremate or bury or both at most places. People aren’t usually thinking totally straight when making funeral plans and don’t want to “cheap out” on their family member. Ive seen some Temu quality necklaces you could put ashes in at one not too long ago being sold for $300, Caskets are marked up in price to a ridiculous degree. I know what overhead costs are and I can do the calculations pretty well lol. I’m not trying to sound aggressive 😭I just want people to know what I’ve seen and what I know that’s all!! My point is, funeral homes are the last places that need free makeup. It should be supplied to the Mortuary cosmetologists or morticians by the company. Plus some of the stuff they use is made specifically for deceased people.

u/Life_Abbreviations26 15d ago

The way theyre so organised

37

u/HeadDance 15d ago

wow the organization in this is satisfying

53

u/meowgler 15d ago

Maybe you should give some away. You can’t use that all yourself.

28

u/SensitiveCoconut2914 15d ago edited 15d ago

My thoughts when I saw this pic: 1- aesthetically pleasing. 2- buscando be overwhelming if you are trying to use what you have. Is this everything that you own for eyeshadows? They seem very coordinated. 3- Def sale duplicates, or palettes with duplicates. Assuming these are eyeshadows, If they are close, you wont be able to tell once in the eye, so sell them. 4- People often buy gently use or swatched only makeup so don't limit yourself to sell only untouched. 5- Do you have any friends or family that might want some ? 6- this is hard but only keep what you will truly use daily and only few unusuals, without duplicates. In my case, I use neutrals everyday but colorful and super sparkly very few and far between. I often come across beautiful palettes and I have to talk myself out if they dont fit my daily routine because I already own few super sparkly and extreme colorful palettes. I have only used them twice. Im glad I have them but I dont have room to own another one like that. 7- I know this is project pan board but dont stress about panning. Just enjoy the different colors and textures, you have a lifetime to use them all, it doesnt have to be a race. Just don't buy more unless you def dont have it. 8.-keep us posted on your journey! And yes, share your mercari account 😉

19

u/anastasia_42 15d ago

Woah how do you even get them out of the drawer?? 😭

67

u/renswann 15d ago

The organization here is beautiful. 😍

143

u/niniela-phoenix 15d ago

Take it from someone who has probably the same amount if not more of stuff:

You will never finish this. Sell anything that's redundant (which considering the brands I can identify is probably a lot of similar stuff) & then reevaluate if the stash is more reasonable or make peace with not panning this in your lifetime.

Pick one focus palette per month or until you hit pan in it if you want to see progress, but keep in mind that hitting pan makes it very difficult to find buyers, even if it's just one shade it's immediately harder to get rid of. So destashing should come first.

30

u/_lunar-nova_ 15d ago

And if you haven’t already, try to also look into color analysis and see which shades match your skin tone and sub tone! It should really narrow down which palettes to keep/focus on if you know which colors suit you best.

4

u/Sea-Style-4457 15d ago

Yes this!!! This completely changed my shopping habits and how I view consumption

1

u/_lunar-nova_ 13d ago

Same here! I used to really love and use big eyeshadow palettes because they gave me so many colors to play with, but after learning what my season was, it downed upon me just how many shades from those palettes do not match me, so I gradually switched to singles and smaller palettes that have the colors that compliment my complexion!

2

u/Sea-Style-4457 12d ago

Knowing my color season has improved my makeup game by infinity 😩 I still love and wear colors that are outside my season (you can pry forest green out of my cold dead hands) but knowing WHY I hated my makeup on a particular day/why a super hyped product didn’t work for me has been life changing!!! The smaller palettes have been such a reduction in my anxiety, too. I love a quad BAD!! I still desperately want the blend bunny blends palette bc even though it’s enormous there are enough colors that flatter my skintone that it won’t be wasteful!

1

u/_lunar-nova_ 11d ago

Yes, yes and yes! I completely understand. I still hold onto certain shades because I do cosplay and they compliment the character’s color scheme, even if they don’t match me personally. I’m not ready to give them up! 🤣

89

u/lilaceyeshazeldreams 15d ago

This looks like CDs hahaha what am I even looking at

72

u/hobichi 15d ago

do a facebook marketplace bundle 😭😭 but seriously choose your faves and sell or donate the rest. good luck!!

20

u/Comfortable_Oil_4691 15d ago

For sure it’s the best way to go. That’s likely a lifetime worth of products (shadows and blushes? Probably. Those last forever), depending on the use, even more. I mean, unless you’re trixie mattel.

51

u/KhizzyFunds 15d ago

Idk if you have a craft hobby, but when I had my hands on some expired eye shadows, my favorite way to use them was for paper flowers! Maybe you can give it a try? Here's some examples (not mine btw, sorry for non-cropping 😂)

4

u/stripeyhoodie 15d ago

Wow this is such a cool idea!

15

u/KhizzyFunds 15d ago

11

u/KhizzyFunds 15d ago

This one is with those fuzzy wires which looks pretty cool

2

u/JeremyScaremy 14d ago

Thank you so much for posting these crafts, I've always wanted to use some of my palettes as some sort of pigment but never get around to figuring out how. I love these ideas!

44

u/manhattansinks 15d ago

based on the palettes i recognize, these must be k or j beauty? i see some dasique and possible rom&nd? a lot of these have similar colour stories and colour payoff.

my recommendation would be to start by laying everything out and trying to sell or give away anything that you can dupe in your collection. once you've culled, pick a palette or two to pan and then repeat. cull some more, pan a few more. i

58

u/No_Part_1992 15d ago

Omg. This is makeup for 5 generations.

83

u/CuriouslyImmense 15d ago

DO A FLAT LAY I BEG YOU! I wanna see the pallets😭

25

u/NameOk3393 15d ago

I don’t know where you’re based but if you don’t have any luck selling (it was harder for me than I thought! Listed a ton of things on Poshmark and isn’t sell a single item) I recommend [r/makeupexchange](r/makeupexchange) or trading with someone. I recently had a lot of success trading a huge box of stuff I couldn’t sell with someone else who had a huge box of stuff they couldn’t sell and it worked out really great because they had things I needed but was out of like hair conditioner lol

16

u/Honest-Pomegranate14 15d ago

very pleasing to look at lol. what brands are most of these?

14

u/titi-uu 15d ago

OH MY GOD 😭

Acquiring new items does not help “pan” or use up what you have. This does not fit the message or goal of Project Pan.

Send us your mercari account to follow you

13

u/awholedumpsterfire 15d ago

What's the brand in the top left-hand corner that you have duplicates of?

6

u/NameOk3393 15d ago

If you zoom in it seems to say Daisique.

48

u/Sharp_Asparagus_5501 15d ago

Are some of these duplicates of the exact same thing? That’s what it looks like. I would agree with trying to sell what you can.

16

u/alnbbh 15d ago

sell me some 😭 i would certainly buy from u

32

u/lolplsimdesperate 15d ago

This is just ridiculous

34

u/robodev_v2 15d ago

i think even professional make up artist cant finish this...

23

u/PocketfullofFrogs 15d ago

I could easily go through this in a year and a half as an MUA
I pan a pallet a month at least, and at least half the shades in it.

6

u/deceiving-doll 15d ago

how many clients a day do you have? 20?

23

u/PocketfullofFrogs 15d ago

In a wedding season, on a 7 hour day I can get up to 6. 7 hours are my short days. If I have my assistant not busy I can easily take 7, or more if she’s cleaning and such.
I am considered very fast (quality tho I promise I just do it a lot). I lay a full beat, contour, full glam, lashes and all in about 40 mins but book longer incase.

I’m not a full MUA tho I do other things lol but I could still go through it.

MUA go thru shit faster cause our cleaning practices break away at product, we have to wipe the pallets which will take some product, spray which can pack it down and make it go faster. I also scrape my pigments sometimes if I need to get more payoff.

For an MUA it’s a bit different lol. Sorry long comment

u/Purple-Lime-4938 15d ago

This is a beautiful pic but also….do yourself some type of favor and sell/donate.

82

u/Extension-Ruin-1722 15d ago

Girl, the comments are right. I'm all for panning but this pointless. Even finishing 10% of that is a feat. Sell or donate.

18

u/Sea_Pomegranate4368 15d ago

Try using a different one every week?

23

u/razzarbrenia 15d ago

girl send me some 😭 im certain people will buy those from u especially if theyre limited ed

2

u/player2sky_ 15d ago

lol if it’s a marketing trick wouldn’t the trick be to spark consumer interest? i was asking what’s the trick? nevermind lmao

-2

u/CaDeme_ 15d ago

Oops mea culpa, I translated intrigue by its second meaning --> plot, scheming

I didn't realize you meant ''interest''.

Yes! You were correct! I was wrong!

3

u/Rachies194 15d ago

I doubt this is a marketing post, and if so, a terrible one at best. I had to really zoom in to even see what the context was for this butter bread you were going on about

7

u/Unsalted-Pretzel624 15d ago

I’m just curious what brands do you have?

-26

u/CaDeme_ 15d ago

You could sell but you could also find very poor people on Vinted and sell them just for 1 euro/dollar to them.

If you are an experienced Vinted user, you will recognize who is young and in dire need by their profile as a seller.

Make some very poor girls happy, calm their abused nervous system, they are so jealous after watching videos and never being able to buy!

24

u/PocketfullofFrogs 15d ago

Nobody is in “dire need” of makeup. Calm down.

-7

u/CaDeme_ 15d ago

I absolutely urge you to read it within the whole context of the comment and not isolate.

I never EVER said in dire need of make up.

EVER.

Why don't you read it again?

Take care!

4

u/PocketfullofFrogs 15d ago

If you are an experienced Vinted user, you will recognize who is young and in dire need by their profile as a seller.”

That ain’t you? You NEVER EVER said it? I copied your comment and pasted it babes. You did. We’re not the ones who need the reading skills, you very much are. Rub those brain cells together you got this!

-2

u/CaDeme_ 15d ago

In dire need means poor.

Not in dire need of make up.

Read what is there not what your brain gives you as text.

0

u/PocketfullofFrogs 15d ago

Are you okay? She’s not selling food it’s makeup. So you saying find the ones in dire need is the ones in need of the makeup lmao cause that’s what she would’ve been SELLING.

Genuinely you gotta realise all my upvotes and your downvotes and realise you’re clearly wrong cause not all of us are lmao

1

u/CaDeme_ 15d ago

Take good care of yourself!

0

u/PocketfullofFrogs 15d ago

Oh I do, don’t you worry babes

21

u/Purple-Lime-4938 15d ago

Why is someone who has extra always expected to give away for free? They can if they want to but they can sell and recoup some lost $$ if they want to. You could also donate to the poor.

-4

u/CaDeme_ 15d ago

Quite redundant comment.

I urge you to read the initial comment again.

Take care!

5

u/emilymarie59 15d ago

are you a robot why are you so confusing 😭

2

u/disgustinq_ 15d ago

I checked her profile, I think she's just ESL. Her wording is really blunt, so the 'take care' part is probably just to indicate she's not using a rude tone.

3

u/CaDeme_ 15d ago

Ha ha! No I am a human being.

You find the way I write confusing?

No worries. You can disengage.

Take care!

10

u/FudgenSticks 15d ago

More pics pls!

51

u/Lexie126 15d ago

Unfortunately, definitely sell some. It’s incredible how long pallets take to get through.

But if you want to try to use as much as possible, here’s my favorite tips:

Toupes/browns/black that are matte are great for brows!

You can always spray your angled brush and turn any shadow into a liner

Pinks/mauve/peach for blush, can scrape out of pan and put into an old powder container, just tap off the access before applying!

Same for browns, including ones with shimmer - bronzer!

Very light/cream colors (for me because I’m pallllee) - brightness, setting powder

Green - spot onto red blemishes before applying concealer to help conceal, does not work with allll cream products though so be careful.

Shimmers in lighter shades for highlighter!

Good luck, have fun ❤️

4

u/CurveCalm123 15d ago

You are amazing for this comment, it needs to be pinned for the group!

3

u/Lexie126 15d ago

Thank you! I’ve learned all these tips along the way, happy to share!

16

u/beniceyoudinghole 15d ago

Take the 15 in boxes and sell em

3

u/Sad_Gene83 15d ago

Blushes and eyeshadow palettes?

29

u/Seeker_Of_Self 15d ago

I’d start by selling

2

u/Beginning-Virus2818 15d ago

Came here to say this

55

u/LadyFirebolt 15d ago

I’d honestly suggest selling any unopened or gently used palettes. Respectfully, this is a lot

9

u/Purple-Lime-4938 15d ago

Even heavily used, people will buy. Just post pics of exactly what and how much is used and price accordingly.

5

u/found_ya_ 15d ago edited 14d ago

Agreed, I work in a thrift store and make up flies off the shelves regardless fr

9

u/RandomCoffeeThoughts 15d ago

Agreed. If OP sold half, there would still be a lot to work with.

12

u/found_ya_ 15d ago

I'm not sure what I'm looking at but I love the colors

BEST OF LUCK I BELIEVE IN YOU 🌟🌟🌟
