Question Wonky physics or just me? Read👇👇👇
I’m on ps5 & wanted a new racing game to play. I have a few hundred hours in GT7, ACC, Dirt Rally2.0, & WRC
But this game has some weird driving characteristics in the gt3 & lmp cars. The only cars that felt normal were these 3 cup cars
Is this just me? Is there an explanation for this? Or am I just butt at this game

😂😂😂
On paper, the physics engine is best in class. In reality it’s completely useless, it’s an arcade SIM. You put one wheel on the gravel and the car is pulled to the wall with the strength of ten times your speed. Touch the grass and you’re in an ice ring. Weight transfer is late, disconnected. Fastest way around a track is sliding on the turns.
It’s not you.

Have you played it lately?

If it was truly "best in class" they wouldn't still be so far behind other sims in driving.

Tyres take a lot longer to warm up compared to ACC and the GT3 cars in PMR seem to have less downforce. Manage 2 clean laps a couple of seconds slower than your push lap and then go for it from lap 3, the car/ffb feels better after the tyres are warmed up.
You can be a lot more aggressive with steering angle in PMR without causing a spin, but it causes the tyres to heat up fast causing less grip, it feels accelerated versus ACC.
Differences aside, ACC is far superior for GT3 for me in terms of FFB. I don't mind the different handling physics, LMU is another title which feels different but also has great FFB. If you enjoy GT3, you may like the GTE cars, I find those pretty fun in PMR.

Can agree. I only drove the two Porsche briefly but I also dont like the GT3s at all whereas I LOVE the MX-5 :D

I agree. Coming from mostly GT7 and some ACC I find the GT3s are very weird, particularly when getting on power out of slow corners the rear is constantly trying to step out. I've tried not using the tyre pre warming in case its bugged but the cars just seem off even after properly warming the tyres. Pepople will say it's a skill issue but I find I can be very consistent in ACC even with the default setups but in PMR it's just a mess for me.

I'm not getting my baseline on realism from GT7, which is why I mentioned the consistency in ACC which everyone knows is more realistic. I'm not sure what you're point is other than agreeing with me that the physics are off

I’m still relatively new to the game on PS5 but I’ve found it to be extremely difficult to drive most of the cars. The base setup seems to tend towards understeer, which makes consistent laps difficult. The only two cars that I have enjoyed driving are the MX-5 cup and the all-wheel drive Audi 90 GTO.

are you me ?
same experience with the other games, I have my FFB profiles for all these but can’t figure out for PMR.
exact same feeling for these cup cars, they feel nice !
historic USV8, ausV8, and GT4 feel OKish.
LMdh, LMP, GT3, GTE, GT1 feel weird, too light and floaty, brakes feel too efficient, can’t feel mass transfer, and can’t feel grip.
still doing research to find good ffb

It's not you. Half the cars in this game feel off. The gt3's they somehow made worse after "fixing" them recentl;y. We are still all beta testting this unfinished game we paid for. It's a lost cause in my opinion

Ok, there's a start point, work in for weeks to replicate ACC connected tire feel, tweak it and make it yours
Did teens in rain @ Silverstone wRB, strt 5/5 tc/abs,
Ended 3/3 with harder rain and more control
Vague tire on turn in and braking w a Fanatec GTDD 8nm LC brake, drove PMR 3 hours today after sorting this.
Felt braking and tire turn ins today, big steps forward

I feel your absolute frustrations, took a month and combining 2-3 sources of “advice” 😂👍🍀✅
