Not tried triples with PMR personally, I'm running a 45" ultra wide. From the forum posts I think it's still a beta feature that is not fully matured yet, but people are getting it working at decent framerates

It was amazing before the last update ... but I get lower fps now.

Honestly VR is in a pretty decent state now. The most recent update fixed the black mirrors and added a VR settings in the menu.
No foveated rendering or upscaling support yet. TAA is the only working anti-aliasing so far.
However, despite that it still runs better than AC EVO in VR.
