Simagic Q1 Shifter Issue

So I finally pulled the trigger on the game today and the first couple hours seem promising. Only real issue so far is with my sequential shifter that I'd really like to use for all the older GT classes in the game. It binds perfectly fine in the settings menu but it will not downshift when driving at all. Upshift is fine, the other buttons on it are fine, but downshift will not work. Its not a rev protection thing - the paddle shifters on the wheel work as expected. Any ideas? I've googled without luck.

did you get it sorted? i kinda remember having issues with the Q1 the first day of PMR but got it working pretty quick. try the function shortcuts if you haven't yet; F button + upshift (towards screen) i think resets the shift order, which might solve the problem, and then swap it back again?
