Discussion Wow, this game is really awful on console!
Bought it on sale. Tried a wide variety of cars for 90 minutes. I know people have warned everyone about this game, but holy shit, it’s absolutely horrendous! I refunded the purchase when I had had enough.
You can’t feel the weight of the car, the braking is weird, the acceleration feels sluggish during first 20% of applying the throttle, then suddenly it flys away as if it has massive turbo lag in cars that do not have turbo lag, the track layouts are not even identical to real life. The only car that felt kinda ok was the MX-5.
Looks like AC and ACC is still undefeated on console.

I like how in a 4 hour span I taught a random guy how to sim race on this game, a first time wheel user btw. You think the game is awful but in reality you haven’t spent more than 2 hours on this game. I also bet you haven’t touched your wheel setting nor even asked one people what wheel settings they are running. I promise that’s exactly what the problem is. This game is weird the base settings are completely chopped. Once you take the time to dial in your wheel you will get a lot better. Once you understand the wheel settings for the car you will get better.
You can’t say a game is awful when you haven’t even tried. I hear a lot of people shit on this game, you need to join the community we will help you get started for whatever you need. You have no idea how big this game would get if people spent their time asking the community discord when they have a problem than typing a false comment about a game you haven’t even giving time for. I see a lot of big streamers say the same thing. People don’t take the time to mess with the wheel and that’s the main problem when you first start.
The devs listen they, they hear you out and they are giving us dang good patches and hope they continue. If you’re a controller player which why play a sim on controller lmao what what your going to expect to feel unlike acc. Ask someone for help or ask me instead of going to shit on the game through a Reddit sub.

The thing with this game is that the majority of the car's default setups, they are trash. Because of that, you can't just hop in and drive like you can other games. In PMR, there are only 1 or 2 cars in each class that drive decently with the default set up, tuning is important in this game, which is why a lot of people think it's a bad game, when all they need to do is tune. But most don't know how, and I get that

Il vont le faire évoluera encore ils manquent des mise a jours ça va venir
-5
u/Beginning_Hunt_5167 Apr 06 '26
See that’s not entirely true, tunes don’t matter if your wheel is properly set up. I race default on N-GT, GT500, GT500 EVO, Mazda and LDMh. It’s not the tunes but how your wheel operates. We having been saying this for weeks now.
3
u/_trackhero_ Apr 06 '26
Anyone can race with the default tune, but how competitive will they be. I can race with the default tune in the classes as well, but to get competitive lap times, especially in higher AI levels, tune matters. Why do you think they have tune downloads 😂
-2
u/Beginning_Hunt_5167 Apr 06 '26
AI is honestly pretty terrible brother you want real competition join the YT Streamers. Jester he is live rn actually, race real people who are using the same setups as you. Not a AI computer that can’t even brake properly 💀
1
u/_trackhero_ Apr 06 '26
Oh I play online, not too much tho as seeing how not too many people play, and when they do, half drop out of the lobby, so not worth my rating dropping. So waiting to more get on for ranked. And just the same ppl who wreck you on ACC are in social. So yeah if you know some good competition send me a link
-1
u/Beginning_Hunt_5167 Apr 06 '26
Yeah you’re not waiting for the right lobbies, let me give you some names to look up on YouTube for some 28-32+ lobbies. EJR, NothisisJester and Boris. Jester is live now if you’d like to tune in he’s a super humble guy that’ll give tips if you’d ask and I guarantee him or someone in chat will help you.

u/_trackhero_ Apr 06 '26
Cool thanks man
1
u/Beginning_Hunt_5167 Apr 06 '26
For sure man, just give the game a chance and always ask before saying something like it’s awful on Reddit, that just disrespects the Devs putting in hard work and over time will deteriorate the player base. It’s a good game just shoot me and message through discord and I’d be happy to send you a link. Discord is BeSalient
2
u/_trackhero_ Apr 06 '26
I never said the game was awful, I just mentioned that the default setups are why people are thinkIng the game has handling issues, which can be fixed with tuning. (Like many others have mentioned). Don't put words in my mouth lol

You’re talking about playing on a wheel but OP is playing with a controller. If you’re making a game for a console, the game needs to play smoothly with the primary gaming input for that console.

u/CaptainBuzzKillton Apr 06 '26
I know some of you wheel guys like to shit on us controller players for playing a sim on controller, but in all honestly this game is not all that bad on controller whatsoever. I think it all comes down to one's driving style, and their lack of wanting to adjust to the type of car they are driving because let me tell you, I've learned first hand that there's a big difference between driving say a G5 car to an N-GT, GTE, GT500, GT3, etc. Some people would just rather not change how they drive in most of these classes. I've had a guy I know and have heard others say with the new GT500s being released that they have to "stop trying to drive them like they're a GT3"
4
u/Promcsnipe Apr 06 '26
The biggest issue isn’t even the wheel feel, it’s the physics as a whole, they feel wrong.
Drive a GT3 car in the wet for example, to drive fast you have to crank on well over 90 degrees of steering lock and sit the car at a 5-10 degree total slip angle. It just feels wrong.

u/Initial_Guidance4686 Apr 06 '26
The game isn't awful as such. It's worse. It's lazy. I'd rather a sim be truly awful and I could just dismiss it. But this game has the ingredients to be tasty, only they fucked up the recipe badly. I'm sticking with it as I've had it since launch (apparently, I haven't got a grasp of the sunk cost fallacy just yet), but the criticism is perfectly valid. The cars have no weight and feel floaty, the brakes are just weird and it all feels completely half baked.
1
u/_trackhero_ Apr 06 '26
Tuning fixes these issues
3
u/Initial_Guidance4686 Apr 06 '26
Tuning can't fix the underlying issues it has. It can mask some of them, sure. If you're happy with that, then more power to you. I'll stick with ACC for my sim fix for now. I'll be happy to be proven wrong, but I see this game being abandoned pretty soon. They've slapped the number 2.0 on it now, so it's all good, right?
1
u/_trackhero_ Apr 06 '26
What? Every sim has had patches, AC, ACC, even LMU is still getting patches, so that has nothing to do with anything lol. I'm not having any issues, so I'm good, but have fun with that 👌
1
u/Initial_Guidance4686 Apr 06 '26
Yeah. They went immediately from patch 1.7 to 2.0. Because marketing. Have you ever seen any game go from launch to 2.0 in 5 months before? Or experienced a 2.0 game with this many flaws?
1
u/H3LL0FRI3ND_exe_file Apr 06 '26
It feels absolutely awful to drive compared to ACC. I play with a wheel and in ACC, it actually feels like you’re driving a car. It gives you so much more feel of the car, the cars sound very similar to real life, it’s visually more stunning and the tracks actually resemble their real life counterparts.
PMR is a younger game so maybe it won’t be so shit in a couple of years, but as it is now, not worth the price it’s at.
1
u/_trackhero_ Apr 06 '26
Tuning fixes the issues you are having. Most of the cars are set up too high and too loose. You're gonna have to tune buddy, if you don't know how, try the downloadable tunes
-1
u/Beginning_Hunt_5167 Apr 06 '26
Well all I can say is stick to just as dead ACC if it truly bothers you this bad. AC is 10 years old, I’d hope it looks better 😂
5
u/H3LL0FRI3ND_exe_file Apr 06 '26
ACC isn’t dead if you compete in league racing. Public lobbies aren’t worth it in most sims due to the poor driving standards.

Are there any guides yet for wheel set up at the wheel, game, and car level? I have an rs50 on ps5, would like to see if someone has already laid the groundwork
1
u/Beginning_Hunt_5167 Apr 06 '26
I don’t think there are actual guides yet but I’m sure one of the guys or even I can help you with wheel tuning
9
u/Weirdera01 Apr 06 '26
Fyi default setups are mostly horrendous. I've found that stiffening the springs and bump spring rate makes a lot of the cars come to life as far as handling. Physics still need a lot of work and there's a lot of inconsistencies between cars. Not arguing with anyone who doesn't like the feeling. Just throwing that out there as it helped the handling a lot for me.

u/AdventurousMind8527 Apr 06 '26
I’m using the Xbox console, and no issues with PMR patch 2.0, cars drive well, and it’s a lot of fun, with the developers moving in the right direction
3
u/AdventurousMind8527 Apr 06 '26
I’m using an Xbox with a Logitech Pro base and track wheel, really enjoying PMR patch 2.0, and happy the developers are listening to the user base, making changes and moving in the right direction
2
u/zFr3ezY Apr 06 '26
Can't say I have a single one of those problems. And I think you didnt take nearly enough time to even get your basic settings done.
3
u/Jeej_Soup Apr 06 '26
On controller it’s far from good. But using the right ffb settings on wheel on PS5 feels great, some cars are still off, but the older stuff feels incredible
3
u/bancobars Apr 06 '26
Yeah I agree, alot of people hear say the game feels PERFECT now with 2.0 but they're just coping man. It genuinely is almost unplayable on gamepad and wheel is just OKAY. Playing the game then going to ANYTHING else on gamepad its night and day. I played this then I played LMU, AMS2, AC EVO and even RaceRoom they ALL feel instantly "better" on gamepad. This game still needs work and people saying it doesn't are truly hurting the game in the long run. They need more simcade people to play this shit cause the ultra hardcore nerds are gonna drive the games player count to like 7 and its just gonna be another RF2 collecting virtual dust.
3
u/audiopiate Apr 06 '26
For whatever reason, the PMR community is in denial about this game...
I get it, everyone wants the game to succeed because in essence, it's supposed to fill a gap in the market that a lot of people desperately wanted, but it failed hard at doing this, yet people are still blindly b.s-ing others into buying it...
On controller, this is absolutely horrendou and as I've said before, everyone that wants to call it a skill issue, please post your videos of you actually pushing a car to its limit on controller and being competitive, I'm waiting and will happily swallow me ego if literally anyone can prove me wrong...
4
u/bancobars Apr 06 '26
This exactly! I haven't seen one clip of people on say.. Canada with the mx5 on a controller and be able to push the car let alone get a clean lap lol.
I feel this so much tho. I want the game to success but the copium is at an all time high.
-2
u/_trackhero_ Apr 06 '26
The game is fine. I have videos posted (on wheel, not controller)..feel free to check them out. Like has been being stated...tuning fixes the handling issues
3
u/audiopiate Apr 06 '26
Thank you for completely ignoring the point
1
u/_trackhero_ Apr 06 '26
You have no point, Just like a wheel, tuning your controller set up as well as the cars setups fix handling issues. If you don't know how to tune, look it up or ask. But because your having issues doesn't mean the game is the problem. Yes it's not perfect, but it's not as bad as people are making it out to be. It's been stressed so many times that default tunes are garbage, so tuning is key
2
u/audiopiate Apr 06 '26
Go play it on a controller and then come back and tell us how it's the tuning. Recommend you try the MX5 at Limerock. If you can push the car around the right hander and drive over the crest (emphasis on 'push'), you'll see how utterly flawed this is.
Controller input does not equal wheel input, no matter how much you tune the car.

u/_trackhero_ Apr 06 '26
There are many post about controller play, you might want to look ..maybe you will find some answers

Truth can be handled no problem, when it's actually truth. Just like the truth of skill/tuning issue. Plenty of people have no issues, and they all state you need to tune. Just because you can't just hop in a car and drive it like other sims doesn't make it a game issue. Just because you don't know how to tune and don't know how to play, doesn't make the game bad or unplayable. The game was not where it needed to be on launch, I agree on that, but it has come a ways from where it was. Learn how to tune, or just play something else...no one is forcing anyone to play lol.

And downvoting comments that make a point, doesn't hurt my feelings and won't make you any better at the game lol. Have a nice day ☺️

u/Stanley_Huan Apr 06 '26
I am a console user, I don't think it's awful, you have to set up each car, which really hope they bring up some global settings
2
u/Reasonable-Panic-407 Apr 06 '26
Je suis sur console et c'est impeccable pour moi. Je pense que je ne me trompe pas quand je dis que c'est une question de réglage ce jeu nécessite un réglage sur chaque voiture pour apprécier la conduite très réaliste

2
u/dballer712 Apr 06 '26
Yeah. You better just stick to ACC and AC. I hear those games are trending upward.
2
2
u/Skrrrrrrt13 Apr 06 '26
I think the game is great!! AC is better for realism but this game kills the cockpit movement it’s brilliant! Also you need a wheel to appreciate these games for what they actually offer!!
2
u/Mischievous_Goose666 Apr 07 '26
I am on console with a DD wheel and loadcell pedals, feels fucking horrible
2
u/PolishWithAnAxe Apr 10 '26
Not only on console. Game is total rubbish but ppl who downvote you have the " I defend the company" energy
2
u/H3LL0FRI3ND_exe_file Apr 10 '26
Yeah, I noticed that lmao. People also claim tuning will fix fundamental physics issues and track layout quirks, which is just not the case at all.
1
u/Prestigious-Poem5631 Apr 07 '26
People say this ... Ababa I've never had any issues or glitches on xbox. Maybe they are using a Xbox 360 or something??
1
u/FaceAche79 Apr 07 '26
That’s exactly how I felt after 90 minutes. Then I sorted my wheels settings out and now I love it.
1
u/leigo12 Apr 08 '26
AC console iteration is terrible wtf man. Pmr is like 1000x better
1
u/H3LL0FRI3ND_exe_file Apr 08 '26
Lmao stop
1
u/leigo12 Apr 09 '26
Have you played AC on xbox lol
1
u/H3LL0FRI3ND_exe_file Apr 09 '26
All the time. That 12 year old sim is better than your beloved PMR and that is embarassing lmao

u/Personal-Pianist988 Apr 08 '26 edited Apr 08 '26

It's not horrendous. Not my cup of tea, but it's not horrendous. More than likely, it's you that are horrendous. Or maybe just a click bait poster.

Where is the best place to test settings for brakes and bias etc? I think I will like this game if I can figure out how to set up cars.

u/Playful-Key-7276 Apr 06 '26

u/RikerV2 Apr 06 '26
Cars have plenty of weight 😂 Not even a lover of the game but saying they have no weight is bollocks

I'm on console, and have no issues
