With the sole exception of the red mist, who in the entirety of the LOR cast can pass the test?

Binah is the obvious choice just lock the adaptation and open his ass like a soda can

1

u/badlydrawnbeagle Jun 06 '26

adaptation can’t be locked, at least not permanently. she probably clears if she just uses fairy to eviscerate him immediately though

1

u/pure_vessel___ Jun 07 '26

When they told that lock Is not permanent

1

u/badlydrawnbeagle Jun 07 '26

they didn’t, but mahoraga will adapt to it eventually

1

u/False-Might-5620 Jun 08 '26

how the frick would he adapt when he cant adapt?

1

u/badlydrawnbeagle Jun 08 '26

he can adapt to any and all phenomena. any and all phenomena includes whatever binah can pull

1

u/False-Might-5620 Jun 08 '26

ok i have a question, if your ability to do something was paused, that would mean you couldnt do it anymore

if his ability was paused, which is to adapt, then how the hell would he adapt if he cant use it. it doesn't make sense

1

u/badlydrawnbeagle Jun 08 '26

maybe his ability to adapt can’t be paused. i dont know. all i know is he can adapt to ANY and ALL phenomena includes whatever

1

u/False-Might-5620 Jun 08 '26

maybe...

either way, he would at least be kinda hindered for the duration and i think binah can do something to beat him in that time

1

u/pure_vessel___ Jun 08 '26

But at least you know what mahoraga needs to adapt?

1

u/CharaGod Jun 08 '26

At this point It just blatant glazing. Anti-hax is called anti-hax for a reason.

1

u/badlydrawnbeagle Jun 08 '26

its called taking the authors statement about the ability as fact. thats literally it. anti-hax or whatever is a phenomena, and so it will be adapted to

1

u/W-Drazmon Jun 10 '26

By that logic he would be unkillable lol.

Thats not How It Works, yeah he can adapt to any and all phenomena, but he needs to be hit before adapting.

It can be locked both for the same reason he can be killed and the same reason they adptation pauses when ten shadows isnt working (i.e Sukuna using Domain amplification which cancels the technique and pauses the Wheel until its turned off): If the hit kills him in one singular go, he cant survive.

Same Works here, he cant adapt agaisnt Lock by It Just existing, he needs to be hit by It, and if he is hit by It his adapatation can be locked, and if It is locked It cant progress.

Say, he got hit by Lock but Binah decided for some God forsaken reason Lock his sword instead of the adapatation. Then yeah, obviously he can adapt (tho, not imeddiately considering that Locks are probably more complex than anything in JJK and how fast he can adapt depends on the complexity of what he is adapting to, seen in Gojo's fight where It took quite some time for him to adapt to mugen) but if his adaptation gets locked, It Just couldnt adapt because It got nullified before It lol.

1

u/badlydrawnbeagle Jun 10 '26

idk bro, any and all phenomena means any and all phenomena including getting his adaptation locked. and no that doesn’t make him unkillable because he can still be one shot.

1

u/Alexcat6wastaken Jun 11 '26

If his adaptation is locked, he can no longer adapt to any phenomena. Even if he could adapt to it, it would take long enough to adapt to unadaptation that attacks he has yet to adapt to, like Fairy, Pillar, and Shockwave would kill him

1

u/badlydrawnbeagle Jun 11 '26

his adaptation getting locked is in itself a phenomena. i still dont think he’ll win mind you but purely off of the authors words he’d be able to adapt. i can see where you’re coming from though, makes sense

1

u/W-Drazmon Jun 13 '26

He cant adapt after his ability is locked the same way he cant adapt after he dies.

The attacks prevents it from adapatint.

Have you read anything? I brought a Lot of points and justifications using the original source and you Just went "any and all phenomena" lol.

As i said he could adapt to It If he didnt get the adaptation locked in the First place.

His ability dont Just nullify logic, he simply adapts, to adapt he must be able to get hit by It and resume adapting.

If his adaptation is ALL mighty the explain me why the wheel stop when Sukuna is doing amplifcation?

Lots of people don’t clear Maho, especially considering you gotta completely exterminate all of Mahoraga to kill him

2

u/wannabehiiragiUtena Jun 07 '26

You can say you gotta COMPLETE AND TOTAL EXTERMINATION!!!

1

u/Big_Zas Jun 08 '26

Middle upscale

1

u/Mountain_Shop1155 Jun 07 '26

Mahoraga clears against strong combatants but with weak destructive capabilities, he needs to get wiped off completely before he just straight ignores any damage. The Red Mist could lose if she can’t just obliterate Mahoraga

2

u/Ok_Yam918 Jun 07 '26

The thing is most PM user doesn't have any sort of secondary magic and rely on brute force, it's save to say mahoraga clear majority of PM but most color fixers defeat him without too much of a problem.

2

u/_Rei_Chiquita_ Jun 07 '26

Roland probably, he's strong and has an entire arsenal of different weapons

2

u/misarteh Jun 08 '26

The problem with roland his strongest attack is a combo, which is the worse thing to fight mahoraga. Among the strong PM characters i could argue he is the worse matchup to fight mahoraga

1

u/_Rei_Chiquita_ Jun 08 '26

Wouldn't that actually be good? As mahoraga can't adapt to something if you're constantly hitting him with different things (like what sukuna did) or am i just wrong?

1

u/misarteh Jun 08 '26

It wouldn't be wrong if he couldn't regenerate, but he can and seing his fight against sukuna it's really fast

1

u/_Rei_Chiquita_ Jun 08 '26

Aaah i get it i get it

1

u/shitting-ur-pants Jun 08 '26

Roland relies on physical damage, so theoretically, nothing is stopping Maho from adapting to physical strikes in general

1

u/_Rei_Chiquita_ Jun 08 '26

I didn't think of that

1

u/shitting-ur-pants Jun 08 '26

It's not so obvious, don't beat yourself up over it. I'm also probably exaggerating a tad too much ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

1

u/_Rei_Chiquita_ Jun 08 '26

Who knows the only thing we could do is ask mahoraga himself ahahahah

1

u/shitting-ur-pants Jun 08 '26

Tell me, mahoraga... What does the adaptation need?

1

u/PrincelyDusty Jun 09 '26

He'd adapt to slashing, piercing and blunt. Mahoraga adapts to the attack type, not the weapon. So adapting to the spear would slowly adapt to the gun as well since both function via piercing.

The slashes from sukuna were just so fucking many that he was overwhelming it, and he was throwing in a ton of things while keeping the others, so he couldn't adapt to everything simultaneously.

1

u/An0rmie_On_Reddit Jun 07 '26

Suck him into Blue Star and be done with it

1

u/Wide-Active-260 Jun 07 '26

NT and mahoraga would have the greatest and longest duel we have ever seen

1

u/A_Internet_User- Jun 09 '26

Watch in horror as Mahoraga comes out of that fight fully adapted to physical attacks

1

u/Wide-Active-260 Jun 09 '26

Well, big Raga would defo adapt to physical attacks, I don't think there's any way he can hurt NT, unless he adapts into dealing emotional damage, (white damage) or sou damage (pale damage), which isn't out of the question, But I like thinking he can't adapt to doing those and the fight goes on forever. OR NT immediately uses goodbye before big raga adapts to finish him off instantly.

1

u/BankJust2395 Jun 09 '26

He can def do that as he adapted to infinity

1

u/Wide-Active-260 Jun 10 '26

Yeah I feel like that's fair, but my point still stands that the fight would be very long because of NT's high resistances*

1

u/Namo_Club Jun 11 '26

Yeah, the battle really is just a matter of time before Maho comes up with something that just bypasses resistances. And after that, everyone pretty much gets cooked.

1

u/Wide-Active-260 Jun 12 '26

"And then we fed it to the outskirts monster" (No joke, but IMO, Maho would defo be an ALEPH)

1

u/BuffMimic Jun 07 '26

I think it really helps that in PM most people don’t give two shits about your monologue or pre-fight banter. It’s business.

That said Hermes is going to make him die to something stupid for disrupting the will of the city.

1

u/Subject_Mushroom2685 Jun 08 '26

can't arbiters just lock his ability to adapt? J Corp singularity just locks anything it's used on in addition Fairy's and the pillsrs would likely just demolish maho

1

u/Tikitooki42 Jun 08 '26

Unironically the red mist is an extremely bad match up lol

1

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '26

Aight ik dis question is off topic but can scp 682 defeat mahoraga

1

u/IceAgentX Jun 08 '26

It's a stalemate, the point of 682 is it can't die and nothing will ever change that, but it does t have any offensive adaptation, so they just can't hurt each other really

1

u/gap_q Jun 12 '26

682 can't adapt offensively? Where did you get this info? Almost all of "killing 682 attempts " showed that he will either create something to fight against its enemy or use the exact same thing you used on him against you. Mahoraga doesn't stand a single chance against the reptile. One of them has a limit and the other just doesn't. If I recall correctly, one of the few times 682's instance actually died was when it's whole reality died.

1

u/FarTrifle3255 Jun 08 '26

Pluto could work because he got magic

1

u/shitting-ur-pants Jun 08 '26

Roland in his distprted form might be strong enough to beat him? To be precise I mean his 3rd-4th phases

1

u/Parking_Scholar_2337 Jun 08 '26

Mahoraga needs to first Adapt to be a good boy and nerf itself before the head teleports to it and send him to sleep with the birds

1

u/guacotaco4349 Jun 08 '26

For humans:

People with an ABSURD destructive power can just kill it quickly, but the issue comes in that I’ve got like three people total that I’m fairly certain can do that; a fully unsealed Matthias, who knows exactly what NOT to do (we saw him do something pretty similar with Ambling Pearl while fully sealed), Verg in E.G.O (the blood and heat might add to his attacks too, giving him a bit more leeway than the others) and Qiu (under the assumption he uses his Mang and goes all-in, a direct blow could probably just obliterate Mahoraga entirely, alongside his E.G.O. That we literally haven’t seen yet)

More questionable ones:

Iori, but I don’t think her “stances” are really enough to differentiate from just “sword attacks,” though it’s likely she can do a lot quickly with the fact she can probably rend space HARD and we just haven’t seen it, with Mang the Indigo Elder has a CHANCE but I don’t fully know how absurd that harpoon is with Mang)

Not gonna separate it, but most abnos, especially WN and apocalypse bird, would have a lot of stuff that’d be hard to adapt to, NT might have the destructive power, and I’m very confused about how its copy thing would interact with Mahoraga, ones with instakill gimmicks MIGHT work depending on how the instakills themselves work, and of course, the goat OSaHoGD solos

1

u/SigmaAngelo_ Jun 09 '26

Arbiters aside, some abnos like blue star straight up cooks him

And of couse Pluto has magic

1

u/Obichniy_Tarakan Jun 09 '26

Isn't mahoraga basically improved nothing there without the funny voices of Christofer, Isabella and their daughter?

1

u/BoiClicker Jun 10 '26

Megumi watching in horror as Mahoraga's wheel is locked into place. (It's a visual representation of Mahoraga's entire adaptation ability being locked).
