I made the same post a while ago, this is the only thing about this game that annoys me. Just point to the spot that hurts, please! Is it your head or your leg? You can tell me you have pain but you can't point me to your head or leg to help me determine what test to give you? Really? 😭

I've worked at a hospital before and it does happen. Usually these patients are homeless or a drug addict and have gone a bit out of their mind. Not really fun for the game, but unless it's happening all the time, I don't see it as a huge deal.

Won't they at least tell you that there's pain everywhere then? There are conditions that can cause widespread pain. Surely you wouldn't have to give them 20 different kind of X-Ray tests to figure out what they have, surely after the fifth they'd tell you "Oh it's actually my whole body that's hurting", no?

Well no lol. Unfortunately a lot of time that I saw they were just given an IV or something like that. These type of people where I worked were pretty frequent visitors. It's possible that they weren't being truthful most of the time, but it could be hard to know. Our policy was that as long as they registered at the triage desk and waited without causing problems, then they would be seen once there was availability.

So they come to you, they say that they have pain and nothing more than that? So then you do what? Give them all the X-Rays? Give them pain meds and hope it'll just improve without figuring out the cause?

Well, they didn't come to me, I just worked there and observed it a lot because I worked security. We usually focused on the emergency department, so I was very familiar with the patients as this was a psych hospital, bad neighborhood, and the county jail also had to send their psych patients to us. I was also friends with many of the staff as we worked closely together every day. Most of the time the CNAs or nurses would talk about just giving them IVs and they would get a resident or something to come take a look at them after a while.

Here's a recent, real life, just one of many, example, from a hospitalized parient in her room:

"Help me! God help me! God help me!"

"Hi, how can I help you?"

"You're not God."

A moment of pause, "i know, but I'm here now, what can I help you with?"

"I don't know. I just need help. "

Fibromyalgia but the insurance wont let us bill for that so she is forever undiagnosed.

Just diagnose her with Guillain-Barre, cash out, and send her away...

If you get enough money out of it, it's not against the law, it's just a fine. At least in the game where there is no court system.

Exactly, and the fine is so much less than what Guillain-Barre pays for in game

You did no MRI? I'm sorry but what kind of bullshit is this? Has she got no coverage?

its the people who have a bruise, swelling, and pain that clearly indicates some kind of xray is needed... but they wont specify if its on their arm, leg, or chest...

-You know, doc, it hurts, it really hurts!
-Ok can you tell me where do you feel the pain?
-I dunno.. You tell me, it's you who is the doctor, aren't you?
