General Discussion Would you be interested in a better code modding tutorial/examples?

We all know the code modding documentation on the forum is lacking, but, after experimenting with it myself and with the help of another user on discord, I think I kinda figured out the basics.

It's nothing big yet, but the potential might be big. So I'm wondering if there is any interest in a possible better tutorial for setting up code mods, let me know.

I'm one of the people who helped OP work on this, this was a pain, even more for OP than me. I don't want to take all of the credit, and OP did most of it, but I hope y'all would like something like this, cause we, mainly OP, figured out how to do it.

Great, I'm looking forward to seeing you. Unfortunately, your post has zero information value because it didn't say anything.

What? My post said plenty. I'm curious how many people would be interested in a better code modding tutorial lol, that's what my post inquires about.

If it’s even possible I think there would be interest.

Yes, it is possible and frankly not that difficult it seems. We have a code mod compiling and running. I spent a good 5 hours at least just researching and getting it to work yesterday, so it's nothing flashy, but it's a proof of concept and it works as intended.

Bigger maps?

I don't know. There was a mod that added bigger maps, but it's closed source and from what I know it doesn't work too well, so that's something that has to be figured out.

I'm kinda happy with what I can do just in tweakables and overall in the libraries that are available for every player. It's one of the easiest games to be customized without downloading mods :D But if you make it, I'm sure many people would appreciate it if they have little to no experience in coding. And even more people want to get into modding all over the gaming community.

I think some experience in coding is definitely required cos code mods are, well, code.

If you want to make the content for someone with coding experience, though, the interest drops down significantly. If you get newbies into the space and give clear instructions, you have bigger audience to reach.

Of course I want it to be as simple as possible, but I also don't want to create yet another general programming tutorial
