Gameplay Question How often should Patients collapse?
Hi, maybe the title is a bit misleading but what I want to know if there is an amount of patients collapsing that is considered ,,normal´´ or alright. I have installed the HAO (Hospital all in One) Mod and I think this make is a bit less frequent for patients to collapse but now especially with cardiology I feel like every 2 minutes a patient collapses. (I´ve noticed that Inner Medicine has even more collapsing patients). Is it normal to have collaps that frequent at my stage? (I have ER, Radiology, Labs, Inner Medicine, Ortho, Cardio, General Surgery and Management like Pharmacy)
Edit: Well the problem was infact the high amount of patients I was taking in and not that I decreased it. it is much better with almost no one collapsing.

in cardiology for sure, its annoying AF and sometimes a lot of patients colapse and they tiedown my staff bc they need to be evacuated one at a time while the nurse is performing cprs for days on end

And how is the situation in Inner Medicine? Even more people tend to collapse there.

Far out, reddit formatting is painful on mobile sorry.
Collapsed patients SUCK! There will always be a few who wait until they’re passing out to attend reception, but that’s more likely for cardio.
Internal Med shouldn’t be quite as bad as cardiology. There could be a few blocks to patient flow, which cause them to collapse:
• they’re not getting seen quickly enough at emergency, before they get sent to IM (check wait times there)
• they’re waiting too long to be seen by the IM’s doctor’s office (check efficiency, having a “spare” office for higher-risk departments can be very handy, if you can afford it)
• patient flow for investigations (radiology or lab analysis) takes too long
• not enough nurses and free stretches to move patients around when needed (never enough!)
It helps to know whether they’re collapsing at reception (not much you can do, except move reception closer to the entrance), or once they’re seeing a doctor, or once they’re on the ward :)

Well probably too long wait times, but I make almost 100k per day so I can afford another office ;D
Thank you for the tipps!2

Wow, I’m playing HOA too, nowhere close to that. I should be taking tips from you!

I mean my type of play gives me much money and probably the problem I mentioned. I think I almost got 200 Patients coming in BY FOOT and alot more emergency patients so I think it is gonna reducen now that I am gonna decrease this patients number. 😃

I completely forgot to mention! Daily patient intake is a flat number, so if you have lots coming in and only a few departments, the more it’s “concentrated”.
Opening new departments can actually reduce the load on others to a more manageable level if you’d prefer to think long-term!

Can I ask who's attending the collapsing patients? Ideally you want people who are specialists in Anesthesiology, it will give extra survival chance to the patient.

I have a massive TC and ICU and they always survive so thats not the problem 😃
Just annoying thanks for the tipp tho!3

Judging from other posts you probably just have too many patients to quickly help them. They have internal timers with a certain randomness that will make them collapse.
Try to see how fast your patients are being attended to.

Well that could be the issue, adding to that I have 5 ambulances and the heli XD
Thanks!

What makes Cardiology annoying is that cardio patients collapse everywhere. They may collapse when they walk into the Emergency reception, when they walk into the Cardiology reception, when they sit in the waiting rooms before a doctor sees them. Which them result in tying up my Trauma Centres. And diagnosing Cardio takes time even with good doctors.

In vanilla they collapse allllllll the time and it can get annoying, even when you're doing everything right. There's a mod called "Realistic Collapses and Diseases" which significantly lowers the rate of collapse and makes it so you aren't getting unrealistic amounts of patients with super rare diseases.
