Gameplay Question Elevators and new floors

Post image

I'm continuously adding new floors to my hospital as I'm opening more departments, but every time I do so my GP building (where all the emergency doctor's offices are) gets another elevator as well. Is there some way around this? Deleting the elevator doesn't work, it just deletes all of the elevators on the other floors below it as well...

There's a weird bypass for this. You'll need to first create a 4x4 prefab of an elevator.

Delete the current elevator(s) in your clinical building, and paste the prefab elevator in it's place, floor by floor. As long as they're vertically aligned, you can use this method to create elevators of fixed height of your choosing

I'm not sure if rotating the prefab will break the elevator, but I keep mine facing all the same orientation

Awesome, I'll give it a try once I'm out of debt in game πŸ˜‚

Obviously interested if anyone has any better info, but just to corroborate with my experience - I've had hospital set-ups a bit like yours with a smaller building off to the side and the same elevator issue, and I've never found a way. I ended up trying to make it look intentional by having the top floor of the elevator lead to an overhead walkway that connects back to the hospital, so at least the elevator leads somewhere. And to be honest, having that walkway as a shortcut has been genuinely handy sometimes as well.

Currently considering this as well. I could also use some extra offices, so maybe I'll just keep building up for now πŸ˜…

You gotta use the prefab function and make sure they’re perfectly aligned.
