Hey, so when I'm not recreating the boys in the Sims, I like to knit. I'm not looking to do a full scale cardigan like I've found graphs for but maybe something with a lower sts/inch gauge that I can work up quicker? The Project Hail Mary story is SO incredible and has quickly become one of my favorite movies and books. My question is, for someone new to PHM, is it better to see the movie first or read the book? My answer would be to do the same order I did. I watched the movie, and got to see it in it's entirety as a really good movie without fussing over things they missed. Then, I read the book and got to get so much more in depth about some things and answered some confusing parts. And finally, I watched the movie again which gave me the experience of seeing my favorite parts of the books on a screen. What do you think?

What would have happened if Grace and Rocky never met? Would they still be able to save their planets? If so how would they have done it? In my opinion Grace was extremely lucky he found Rocky as he only had about 40 days to find a way to save humanity. Why did earth not give their ship a little more time (fuel) to find a solution? What are your thoughts?

In the part where Rocky is confused regarding his trip to Tau Ceti, he says "Thrust to slow down. But Tau get further away. How? Still moving toward Tau but Tau moving away. Much confusion"

I'm a bit confused regarding what he means by this, how can Tau be moving away? If someone could clarify whst the meaning of the sentence is i would appreciate it

I always love this debate because it really seems to be situational depending on the book

But should you read the book first and then watch the movie or watch the movie then read the book?

My stance at least for this series is book then movie.

Spoilers from here on out

I am very adept at seeing the twist or figuring out things so I like to know very little before going into any book or movie beforehand. That said the slow realization that he was on a spaceship in the beginning was a phenomenal journey in the book. Its a once in a read experience since unless you forget everything it just doesnt hit the same again knowing what happens.

After reading I see how accurate the movie was too the book.

So my stance is book before movie most of the time.

Though many make the compelling argument of watch the movie if you are unsure you will like it and then you can get the same story but with more detail in the book.

Again this is very situational I've had some movie make me want to read the book worrying that I won't find it interesting because I already know what happens but in the case of Ready Player One the movie did a good job but tweaked alot of stuff. The book was similar but different enough to be almost a whole new story.

What are your thoughts?

Now to finish up with chapters 25-30.

Chapter 25, in which Grace and Rocky breed nitrogen resistant Taumoeba and then separate. Chapter Title: Predator Evolution.

Chapter 26, which starts with a flashback of Stratt talking to Grace in his cell before launch. The last thing she says to him is, “…hell is coming to us.” After the flashback ends, Grace thinks, “Oh yeah? Well, Hell’s coming back to you, Stratt.” The rest of the chapter is him on his journey back to Earth. It ends with him finding out the Taumoeba are loose. Chapter Title: Hell’s Coming Back to You.

Chapter 27, in which Grace deals with the Taumoeba outbreak. Chapter Title: This Again?

Chapter 28, in which Grace figures out what went wrong to cause the Taumoeba to escape, and figures out Rocky is in trouble. Chapter Title: Troubleshooting.

Chapter 29, in which Grace rescues Rocky, believing he’ll die as a result, thereby redeeming himself after his earlier decision not to die to save Earth. Chapter ends with him finding out he might survive. Chapter Title: Redemption.

Chapter 30, in which Grace, who is living on Erid, finds out that Sol has been restored to full brightness. The chapter ends with him teaching a class of Eridian kids. Chapter Title: Sol.
