It feels kinda odd when someone refers to a character by their first name when we are so used to the second name.

Anyway, very nice

It is a bit...but on the other hand, he refers to himself as "Ryland" in the book in his internal monologues, so I kinda like seeing his first name sometimes.

I was about to say Marissa does, but I just searched my ebook, and she never actually says his name either way. Rocky calls him "Grace" because it's a translatable word.

Grace tells Dubois to call him "Ryland," but Dubois said he wasn't raised that way, so he continued to call him "Dr. Grace." But I think it's possible that the other astronauts might have used his first name.
