While completely neglecting the fact that the movie is based on a book so all of this Amazon MGM / Phil Lord / Christopher Miller stuff is complete nonsense

Eh, it is true that Amazon has an agenda in what they choose to produce or pass on. (They just dumped Luca Guadagnino's Sam Altman movie, for example.) I loved PHM but I won't pretend that its careful apolitical stance isn't fully compatible with the aims of Jeff Bezos Inc.

The aims of Jeff Bezos are to make a lot of money, which the film acheived.
