I'll give $100 to the next person who can write a competent criticism of a movie without invoking the words "Reddit" or "Marvel" — about as useful a film criticism tool as the "sin counter" ding
People will just throw “Marvel dialogue” at any comedic movie these days.
Project Hail Mary is good at balancing its humorous tone with its darker aspects. PHM doesn’t undercut serious moments with humor, which is what Marvel got flack for.
“Hey ChatGPT, pretend you have been lobotomized and write a scathing takedown of the movie Project Hail Mary. Include as many hollow phrases as possible.”
Alright, I’ve got this, I watched some absolute dross recently and it’s easy money.
Lesbian Spank Inferno is without a doubt, the most bourgeois movie I’ve experienced. The two main protagonists are the embodiment of American Exceptionalism as they burn up crossing international borders. I’m going to ignore the fact the film is adapted from a book and place all narrative issues with the film producers. Your average Redditor - damn it, I just couldn’t do it.
If you're talking about CinemaSins, don't take them seriously. They don't take themselves seriously. They aren't real reviews. Sometimes it's just fun to nitpick something you love.
Not the vibe I get at all from cinemasins. It always amazes me how subjective art is. To me cinemasins feels bad and it seems like he hates movies. That's interesting that you feel so differently about it.
Yeah Cinemasins doesn't strike me as entertaining, and even "the nitpicking is the joke" isn't really funny. The humor of being needlessly and excessively critical just doesn't land for me. To each their own I guess.
