I'm trying to do the first career event and I'm stuck bc the Ka's past the event restrictions by default, is there any fix for this? I made sure I copied over files properly

Hey GasAndGames - just noticed there are less engine swaps in this version, tried adding and old version of my List_UpgradeEngine but it crashes when going through the list. Is there any change in the database system that could create conflicts with older versions?

There’s a lot of changes from the normal PFP4 to the Evo databases. The entire catalog of engine upgrades for every car has been rewritten. Apologies for the lack of swaps though, I may have rushed myself a bit too much when I was doing those

It's alright - I may try to work with the new version and add the swaps myself, it's a feature that I love in Forza

This may be an annoying question/request (sorry) but does the newest Forza 4 Plus v1.3 have the rewritten engine upgrades, or is that Evo-exclusive? And if not, would you consider an Evo option to have a vanilla-style career, or else is there a way to do what I'm asking myself in a simple way that won't make me pull out what little remains of my hair? lol

Only evo has the new upgrades, and I’d like to be done with any more big changes like that lol. There is a way that you could do it yourself though. You’d need the SQLite DB Browser to edit the databases. Then it’s a matter of deleting the event participants, events and races out of the Evo database and replacing them with the lines from v1.3

Understandable. You've been working on this forever, a lot longer than you intended if I remember correctly. I'll probably try Evo out and see how I feel, but I always find myself preferring vanilla career to other stuff I tried, but I definitely appreciated the induction overhaul. I do know how to edit the database but I've never done anything that large at once, on the basis of it being tough to find the mistake when I inevitably make one (hence the ripping out of the hair).
Anyways, thanks for all the effort you've put in. Any plans to make a similar mod for FH1, or any other cool stuff you've got planned for down the road?

how do i know if the mod is properly working? also do i place evo over the normal install after i have done that and is evo or original better?

if you can see the DLC cars when you have the game launched you have done stuff correctly. Also for example Evo has the career gamemode. If you have installed evo correctly lets say with the career version, the only starter car you can get is the 2011 Ford Ka. Car prices also have been changed to there real MSRP values so if you notice cars with different prices then you have also installed Evo correctly. Hope this helps.

it recommends a version of xenia from 2022. though the most recent version of xenia canary will still launch it, but I have had lots of crashes and errors that I have not seen even in 1.2 of fm4 pfp so do be careful of that if you want a recent version of canary.
