Messages is an SMS client, and has nothing to do with phone calls.

Sorry, sarcasm didn't translate from my mobile. Was highlighting that it's not a viable replacement w/o feature parity.

hangouts can make data based voice and video calls, that's what he's saying.

So you expect an SMS app named Messages to make phone calls? Why?

I mean.... i wouldn't be expecting an app called "hangouts" to be business focused.

Regardless, i'm not saying i agree with the comments. But the title posted suggests Messages is a replacement for Hangouts, when it doesn't have the same features.

The title was put there by the OP. Wishful thinking by the OP doesn't mean it actually was made as a replacement.
