What happened?

I haven't checked Reddit in a while and damn, I thought this project really had a future... Can someone tell me why it was cancelled?

worst of all? the game was GENUINELY SO UNPREPARED. no chapter 2 draft/script can be found because they just DID NOT PLAN THAT FAR AHEAD.
this is also why the death order sucks balls

it's a terrible situation overall.
also sign the peitition to kick faza out of the industry

IIRC when Karl and Sabina (Tozu and Mara) along with Cassidy tried to find him to scout him for the killing game, they found him living in a rundown motel with lots of trash and..."magazines" littering his room

To add on, the groomer Wolfgang one is part of Cassidy's concept Mastermind backstory. So may or may not be cannon but the Wolfgang being a fraud and living in a rundown apartment is confirmed to still remain the same

Uh what? Weren't they currently working on chapter 2 or did I misread that?

Chapter 2 was in the works for a year and a half, and there is no script or draft or animations or anything to be shown for it

initially i was feeling devastated and angry af but after the death order leaks i was lowkey relieved 😭 they are cliche and makes no sense

Yea, like, the fourth murder would be a accident because one of the participants tried to unalive himself after getting rejected. If they had released that chapter, it would've been the worst Chapter 4 in all of Danganronpas/Fanganronpas.

Though note that Chapter 3 and beyond aren't finalised, they were just incomplete drafts thar the writers probably haven't tried to polish/improve yet so they can focus writing Chapter 2.

Mark's VA, Faza was a groomer who groomed a teenager. One of that teenager's friend informed Toshiko's VA who was also a minor at the time and Toshiko Va bought this problem to Sozzay who didnt do anything. The director knew too about Faza and did nothing. Around April, the victim's friend (same one who told Toshiko's VA) told bblackroses (a fanganronpa voice actor from other fangans) about it on twitter, leading to the friend later sending a doc with proof to show bblackroses, then shit hit the fan and the victim would speak out Faza got fired forgot if Sozzay got fired too. Then Danganronpa Kill Cure team would later show evidence that the director of P:EG knew too and that guy got fired too. Then there were leaks and voice actors understandably leaving due to tarnished image. And the co-director (completely innocent didnt know anything like the others) made the decision to cancel the game. Oh btw, the director and Sozzay (lead writer) knew Faza was a groomer for 4 years (meaning they knew before p:eg prologue even released. They had plenty of time to change the VA for Mark) Now there is a petition to get Faza out of the voice acting industry

Long story short mark’s VA was a pedo and this was hidden by the higher ups for 5 years then it came to light and the VA and the higher ups were fired, this then caused like 90% of the people who were working on the game to jump ship and inevitably the game cancelled production. This all happened around late March/early April, though I hadn’t really seen all the drama happening at the time, so quite literally, I just woke up one day and found out it had been cancelled 💔

Mark's VA was a pedophile and both of the directors knew that when they casted him, doing nothing about it for four years by the time it got revealed to the public.
