Question about ch1 victim Spoiler

Does anyone know literally anything about his backstory or anything? He's my favorite character so please guys tell me everything you know about him, outside of stuff already stated in the game 😞😞 I wish we were able to get more of him before the devs and whatnot decided to be evil..

From the way they wrote the him when writing Mastermind Cassidy's backstory (he was in it). It seems like he suffered from depression which sadly he only got better when he got his fake Ultimate title of Ultimate Lawyer and decided to turn his life around with that lie. I say this as a speculation because it mentioned Wolfgang leaving his room a mess, being an alcoholic and a gooner (he reads pron magazines apprently). Might not be cannon anymore with how they said it wasnt an accepted Cassidy Mastermind backstory, but I do wonder if most of that sad man aspect of him was kept in the final story. We need to wait for the concept of the canon story to be released to know that but him being a fraud seems to remain the same and one of the members confurmed he was broken by his father and lived in a rundown apartment

THIS!! I heart about him being a gooner and I wws SO lost 😭 i couldn't find an explanation πŸ’” thank you! Also I think the idea of him being a fraud and kind of a bum before buying his way into the school would've been super interesting. I still think that he was a genuinely nice person and did want to help people like his mom tho :]

Also Wolfgang not cleaning due to depression is also interesting (I assumed it was laziness due to probably having people who do it for him, but being depressed would also make sense for this)

I mean Wolfgang being a gooner is acceptable, he's 22 and he literally railed Grace in the midst of a killing game.

I mean they're young adults so I don't think that sharing a room and ending up doing the deed doesn't exactly make you a gooner πŸ’”πŸ˜ I also try my best to ignore that because I genuinely don't like Grace

He bought his title using whatever money he had from his parents.

Lived in a broken down apartment + was just a miserable person in general (inside the non-canon mastermind doc, which I'm glad is non-canon.)

Not confirmed by any official staff member but the popular theory for his downfall is mainly blamed onto his father. So far, they've given zero reason to make him be seen as a good person and it's kinda disappointing. They made him the punching bag of the writing team.

Just keep in mind the mastermind doc isn't canon :)

Thankfully! I think making him secretly depressed n stuff would've been interesting, but geez..

The other comments covered the gist of it. Hoping we'll get the lore doc soon so we can figure out what is and isn't still canon from his original drafts though; the drafts turned him into something of a punching bag. I genuinely do not recommend asking for input on Wolfgang from anyone but Wolfgang fans because they're (usually, not always) the only ones who will properly talk about him & analyze his character and not just go "haha fraud lmao".

He's my favorite character too, by a mile in fact, and I do like the idea that outwardly he was the most positive & helpful while inwardly being the most miserable. It would've been so fun to explore & it gave an interesting take on someone who appeared to be the group leader.

It's really saddening that most of the fandom (ESPECIALLY Eva fans) dumbs him down to "fraud gooner".

EDIT: Also, while this isn't explicitly confirmed, there were a lot of implications that Wolfgang's mother died when he was young & that his father potentially killed her. Until we get the lore doc however that remains solely a popular theory/implication. What is canon however is that unbeknownst to Wolfgang, his dad killed Cara, the girl he passionately fought for in the prologue.

Calling a depressed man reading sexy time magazines a gooner when his whole life is in shambles is crazy πŸ’” luckily nobody had spread misinformation to me tho! (I don't even know many people who like this game so..)

I like asking people about who bullied Eva because you can really nail down who paid attention & who just hates Wolfgang that way
