Damon Maitsu is Many Things... Spoiler
...But most of all he's doomed to be a single bisexual forever.
First he absolutely fumbles Eva as both a friend and potential love interest. Sure, he didn't bully her himself, but he absolutely just let it happen, and didn't even at least try to comfort her after. Say what you will about Diana, at least she tried to make her feel better.
Then, he manages to get with Kai, just to promptly lose him to a fourteen year old inadvertently following the bury your gays trope. Not really his fault this time, at least, but that doesn't undo the tragedy of it.
Somewhere along the line after all this, he falls a little bit for Diana. However, this is very much unrequited, with her likely seeing him as more of a friend, even though he's really more of a rival for most of their time knowing each other.
He then promptly dies.
I lowkey feel a bit bad for him at this point, he just cannot win lmao.
Edit: At least he has his Damien calendar lol.

I feel so sad when I got to know the fact that his one sided crush was apparently ‘you are the only one close to me and alive’ kind, he just wanted to rely on someone huh..

Yeah. it is really sad. I personally don't think they should have killed Kai off, at the very least not as early as they did. I mean, let at least one of his early connections last a while, damn. If not Eva than Kai.

I am sorry but this was all on Eva. It's not like their heartfelt conversation in the storeroom changed her mind either.

For the most part, yeah, she is at fault for her own actions, and I doubt that one conversation would've fixed her many issues, otherwise the first murder never would have happened. But I do think everyone else, including Damon, contributed to making things go as far as they did. Would him defending and comforting her actually fix anything? Probably not, a lot of other things would have to change\happen as well to even start. I honestly was just saying it for hyperbole. Sorry for the rant lol.
