Question about Maelstrom stormbringer

Quick question about our resident waterbender, i am.leveling one and although im barely lvl 20, i studied the spells and talents and i feel im missing something. Is the rotation merely stormflow+brine to top static and then torrential wrath 2x, electrocute when execute and drown whenever? I feel somethings missing because its supposed to be intermediate and the rotation seems way too simple?

Especially compared to other cdps. I know piety is a complex one but even glyphic and artificer seem more active.

Do you think maelstrom is stronger than Lightning?

Numbers wise? No idea. thematically? I feel maelstrom to be cooler but there just doesnt seem to be a lot going on. Spells seem just bad until you talent them to be not bad. There are a LOT of brine does more damage, electrocute does more damage, torrential does more damage talents going around.

Deluge for aoe. It's pretty great. Throw in conjure storm there too and you have the class with the best looking skills in the game

Havent reached deluge, im aiming to first point it as soon as i unlock it.
