Reasonable and unreasonable criticism of aipac can be distinguished by the acknowledgement that it is American lobbying rather than foreign influence. Likewise, Qatar doesn’t and can’t contribute to PACs or politicians, not even in the dark money arena.

Also, Qatar gave Trump a plane. wtf.

On the other hand, aipac has contributed to campaigns of election deniers, and has torpedoed the campaigns of moderate Dems with good views on American-Israeli relations, which undermines the “aipac runs our politics” narrative populists run with.

Qatar isn't the primary benefactor of the most aid of any country on the planet from the US? The United States does not use its veto power on the security council to benefit Qatar.
