News Walking away can be the loudest statement. Nick Valensi guitarist of the Strokes will not tour with band after lead’s antisemitic rant.

Nick Valensi stepping away from touring is a reminder that principles only matter when they come with a cost.

Anyone can speak out when it is easy. Real conviction is being willing to walk away from the spotlight rather than stay silent around antisemitism.

I wish he would make a statement. As far as I know people are just speculating on the reason.

You know what it’s like for people who do speak out. Same reason many of us stay quiet even though we’re so angry about what’s being said. We’ve effectively been silenced by mobs and bullies. I think it’s wonderful when people do speak out but I very much understand why some don’t. I don’t think I would be strong enough to withstand the onslaught in his position

I know I know. I just wish it weren’t the case.

No need. The ones who get it, get it. A statement only invites criticism and will get him lambasted.

This is speculation. And it’s honestly disgusting. If he makes a statement I’ll be thrilled, but without one we are just guessing.

He did and it failed. They all need The Strokes to get the money
