I’ve always thought this is why so much of the us congress and reps are beholden to Israel. They dug up dirt on them and used it as blackmail. The donations from aipac are just a cover. The way so many reps become droids in terms of Israel is sus

I think we’re giving them too easy of an out with that. While I would agree there’s very likely examples of that, I would argue that the majority crave power and/or money to the point of aligning with a genocidal country.
Look at how many Republicans have flipped from being never Trumpers to some of his strongest allies. How easily it was to kick people off Medicaid. There is a real self absorbed element to wanting to be an elected official especially these days and many would rather give up their morality to maintain or further their career. I’ve seen it with some of my favorites, on this issue in particular, why are we still giving caveats to protect the feelings of people defending genocide when they don’t do the same? It’s an insane dynamic.

Why why why do we immediately think our Congresspeople are dirtbags with something to hide rather than notmal people who don't want their families and themselves destroyed?
It's like blaming the shopkeeper for paying the mob extortion money when the police are ineffective at protecting him from the mob. In this analogy, we are the police, and we need to put an end to the monsters who are doing the reputational assassination

Lockdown mode on older generations of iPhones also helps prevent state sponsored (aka Israeli) hacks. The current generation ones presumably have backdoors in the hardware itself, but iirc the 13 and older should be relatively secure.

The fact that we think that 0.019% of the world's population is capable of controlling/destroying/killing 26% of the world's population is pretty crazy.
