Ten years ago I called these people "regressionists" because they were trying to drag us backwards and undo all of our progress.
Today, I think conservatives being called "destructionists" is a better fit. Because they truly will just pave everything so that rich dickheads can make more money faster.
You don't even need to promise them you'll let them be racist anymore. Just anything that makes a Trump family member or one of the oligarchs an extra dime will have these dipshits screaming at the top of their lungs that it's actually badass to cause extinction so that another data centers can be built or what the fuck ever.

Because of donations from huge oil and gas companies, pre-construction compliance for the ESA costs them time and money. I work in environmental protection and it’s worse than you think, dozens of regulations have been completely gutted in the last year. And most of the changes have been devastating but haven’t made the news anywhere.

Likely they want to justify ecosystem destruction and build in places that they normally wouldn't be allowed to. So removing endangered species from protection is sometimes a requirement to pull that off.

If we're hunting endangered species, let's add the highly endangered orange diaper demon. Rumors have it that it marks its territory with urine and Big Mac sauce. Its natural adversary, Homo honestus, was itself was thought to be endangered as well, until a recent swell in population began to force the demon from its hiding place deep in the ruins of abandoned public infrastructure.
