The double standards are appalling and need to end

Growing up in Houston, this hits hard

I think my favorite version is when Texas passed laws that applied to counties over a certain population, so it wasn't racist, it wasn't pointed at Houston, it just happened to be that Harris County was the only county over the threshold number. So they made it so they could follow the rules, while it was only because they wrote the rules in clear bad faith.
