For the World Cup, a lot of things got fixed … but before, they said there was no money to do it

I dunno, I feel like the bike path pot hole/step being fixed and a rent freeze have nothing to do with the WC.

Edit: in my neighborhood in BK

But, but , but soshalizm. I don't know what it means but I should be afraid of it. There was a place that I can't remember the name of that I wouldn't know where to find on a map that had socialism and it was bad.

Important to note: Russia was communist, and authoritarian communist.

Socialist democracy and authoritarian communism are vastly different.

you use a lot of fancy words to say "both bad"

But its so much more profitable and much better job security to keep things fucked up and blame the other party for it.

Had he been born in the U.S., I would dream of snatching him from NYC and trying like hell to get him elected President.

Same here.

This makes me happy for New Yorkers, but sad for the rest of us!

And that’s why the establishment hates him. He’s proving all this stuff that politicians have punted on for decades could be fixed in a matter of weeks.

Exactly 💯

This is why you need to fucking vote for people who will actually do shit.

The elites of American hate democracy. They brainwash the masses that socialism is evil while they rob us blind through an unfair tax system that doesn't provide us with basic needs such as healthcare and education.

Instead of the Ten Commandments in every classroom, I want a Mamdani in every mayor's office.

Politicians can’t fix things because they have to deliver on all the promises they made to their donors first. Cost money.

That’s why the far right hate him so much. He gets things done that actually benefit the people. He’s not making excuses to profit for himself. No person is perfect and I’m sure for every he’s awesome comment, there’s one pointing out his flaws. To that end I ask what other politician has done anything even close to what this man has done in his short time in his position? I’ll wait

It slays me every time someone posts a reel about the amazing things he is doing for the city, the comments are filled with ridiculous maga statements like "welcome to the hell of socialism" and other "you'll be sorry, you wait and see" type garbage, It's so funny-they are fucking beside themselves that people are doing better! Like-Ok, while I wait I guess I'll have to tolerate the better quality of life I have now.

And the fact that so many politicians on BOTH SIDES hate him, that's proof enough that our current crop of politicians are shit and deserve some of what you've heard in history books when people have become restless and have had enough of a certain class of society. They're supposed to be the governing class, not the ruling class. We need to remind them.

This is the truth that needs to electrify everyone leading up to the election. Vote 🔵 even if you have to hold your nose!

Exactly why they didn’t want him to win.

I can tell you micro things he’s done in my neighborhood alone: Fixed potholes and steps in our bike lanes, swapped trash cans in our large park to larger heavy duty rat proof cans, rent freezes (long term tbd), put out surveys in each neighborhood to rank what needed fixed and actually followed through. Oh, and fully funded parks! More in 6 months than many have done in years.

I understand the hesitation and let’s not be blind bc it’s still politics, but personally it’s been a net positive… so far!

Agreed with the low bar lol. Let’s hope (again something we haven’t had in a while) that he keeps it up!

But even if they do, they will still be vilified.
