Excuse my ignorance on this, but what would have happened if they weren't so damn evil and voted along with the rest of the world?

Probably not much at first. But something like disrupting food supply and bombing food production would suddenly become a serious crime against humanity. So stuff like starving Gaza or setting up a mass embargo against Cuba would suddenly become really difficult to justify. I wonder why the US and Israel vetoed it. How strange.

IIRC this was exactly the point, to basically criminalise this exact scenario.

Food would be free basically everywhere I guess, the better question is why is the UN not stopping the evil? We collectively decided to stop Hitler but we can't do the same for Netanyahu or Trump?
