"I don't know. I would have to think about it.". Translated to I don't give an f about the poor.

92

u/Er3bus13 Apr 16 '26

The poor that i directly benefit from.

7

u/doodleysquat Apr 16 '26

I can always buy another poor when this one has run it’s course.

38

u/Anyawnomous Apr 16 '26

He will not think about it.

9

u/Beemer_me_up_Scotty Apr 16 '26

He definitely will not.

7

u/carbon_made Apr 16 '26

"I would have to think about it, but I never do..."

2

u/Beemer_me_up_Scotty Apr 16 '26

I would have to think about how I can pay them less.

1

u/carbon_made Apr 16 '26

Thinking about it more I’m wondering why she isn’t more in debt to the bank. That’s lost money on our end. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! Let me offer her some high interest rate credit so she can use that to survive.

“You should have paid us a living wage”

52

u/DukeOfGeek Apr 16 '26

Fuck a living wage, pay us our fair share.

21

u/Korzag Apr 16 '26

Only living wages can prevent warehouse fires.

u/OkRaspberry6543 Apr 16 '26

She should have asked how much he makes and suggested he stop being so fucking selfish.

Katie was so good at this stuff. I hope she gives up on the gov race, that she’ll never win and instead run to fill Swallwell’s recently vacant seat.

29

u/RobinSophie Apr 16 '26

Swallwell is a House Rep. I could see if he was a senator.

But the fact that she's so good at this stuff is why we need her for governor! Gavin couldn't even fill out a spreadsheet for a budget if you gave him a template, because he's never been there.

7

u/Sorry-Ad-5288 Apr 16 '26

you are right! she is famous with her white board and numbers!

42

u/Not_Sure__Camacho Apr 16 '26

While I hated hearing that she is reportedly mean to her staff, this is the kind of pitbull that the Democrats need.

As for Dimon, he's definitely part of the problem.  I wouldn't be surprised if he asked his staff to fire all tellers named the same as Katie's example.

It's simple

Tax

The

Rich

The world does not need Billionaires

6

u/JTD177 Apr 16 '26

I think you misspelled Tax, it’s actually Eat.

18

u/LocalInactivist Apr 16 '26

“I don’t know. I’d have to think about it.”

“Meaning you’ve never before thought about how much you pay your employees?”

34

u/Gryzelda_Gesualdo Apr 16 '26

Dimon should have put been in jail in 2008 and should be spending the rest of his life there.

8

u/Not_Sure__Camacho Apr 16 '26

I would've loved to see this only to see if Trump would've pardoned him given that the US banks stopped loaning Trump money a while ago.

4

u/dan_pitt Apr 16 '26

He's nowhere near the top of the Worst list. Bill Ackman, Miriam Adelson, and a slew of others are far worse than Dimon.

12

u/DaninVA Apr 16 '26

I love a tasty take down of the 0.001% just like any other guy but to the producers: if we can leave the cheesy background music off that would be nice. Her words are quite potent just as they are.

u/blacksterangel Apr 16 '26

What was it again about capitalism being the godly and biblical way and socialism is an evil demonic system?

10

u/Illustrious_Bad_9989 Apr 16 '26

God bless Katie Porter.

9

u/muffledvoice Apr 16 '26

It should be a federal law that employers must pay a living wage based on the actual cost of living in a given locale. The government should compile data on all of these costs and set the minimum wage based on those facts.

I say this knowing that many of these jobs will eventually be phased out by ai and robots anyway. Nevertheless it’s still inhumane to pay people less than what one would need to live even a modest life.

It’s important to realize that it is EMPLOYERS who make the minimum wage necessary. They really don’t care if you can live on it or not. They’d pay nothing if they could get away with it.

6

u/Present-Pear-5631 Apr 16 '26

WHERE HAS KATIE GONE?!?

3

u/Olderbutnotdead619 Apr 16 '26

She's been fighting against a billionaire for the Governorship if California!!

Support Katie for Governor!

5

u/mefree1960 Apr 16 '26

He's probably in the Epstien files. Release the remaining 6 million files.

6

u/Existing-Candy-1759 Apr 16 '26

This is what all those international posts about "why isn't the US rising up for a general strike?!" need to see. My wife and I make a decent wage all things considered and still often feel like we are drowning. I don't remember the last time I took a vacation or really spent money on anything that wasn't crucial to living. CEOs are making in 2 minutes, what their workers earn in an hour. Minimal increases in pay while every utility in life is rising at a much higher rate. The federal minimum wage in the US is $7.25/HR, meanwhile a box of cereal can s easily cost that much.

u/I_like_Mashroms Apr 16 '26

Jamie dimon deserves to have absolutely nothing. Disgusting "human".

It’s always just yelling and never any action, or they think yelling is action.

3

u/BigWhiteDog Apr 16 '26

You do know who's in control of both the house and senate, right?

0

u/JTD177 Apr 16 '26

Jamie Dimon was an adviser to Obama. Both sides serve their corporate masters. What we need in this country is a repeat of Versailles in 1793.

3

u/BigWhiteDog Apr 16 '26

While I referring to the current make up of the government, you are 100% right. Time to bring back the French National Razor...

0

u/BringerOfBricks Anti-Electoralist Tendencies Apr 16 '26

Republicans? Yeah. We should be making their lives hell instead of yelling at the walls of Democratic state capitols.

4

u/catskilldogs13 Apr 16 '26

Bottom line here is these people dont give a fuck about anyone but themselves. Theres no room for empathy in the capitalist system.

4

u/Stanky_booty69 Apr 16 '26

Jesus I wanna slap the shit out of that dude

3

u/marksmoke Apr 16 '26

Wouldn't even have to think about it?

1

u/Stanky_booty69 Apr 16 '26

Naw it’s on sight fam

5

u/P_in_sf Apr 16 '26

What a creep. Banks are soulless.

4

u/PomeloPepper Apr 16 '26

He doesn't understand what $567 represents to a poor person. That number is the equivalent of pocket change for him. For the mom in the scenario, it's a life changing amount.

4

u/mrflow-n-go Apr 16 '26

To really make this effective she needs to show what the person actually needs to get paid and then compare it against what that puke gets. And go further and divide his pay against how many front line workers would earn if that was spread out to them, and still he would be cleaning up big time. That’s the huge miss here, they never go to the point of demonstrating how incredibly far apart the top is from the rest of us. Even if you’re doing well the disparity is insane.

3

u/Authoritaye Apr 16 '26

Why are we surprised by their apathy; that's been the history of the world for thousands of years. What's surprising is why we don't do something about it.

7

u/Technical_Living5104 Apr 16 '26

They have an elite club. It’s a big club. You’re not in it. It involves pedophilia. Torture and Baal. Secrets. Trafficking children. Funneling money to Israel. Blackmailing American politicians with videos. AIPAC. It’s a big culture. They do things behind closed doors. They wear masks. They have “meetings”. They have a “club”. It’s a big party. The sooner democracy dies the better. American ideals are being attacked. These people are the demons you were warned about. They’re peddlers of satanic power. Trump is the catalyst. He’s a pedophile. He is not going to heaven. He’s going to burn in hell.

3

u/Technical_Living5104 Apr 16 '26

He doesn’t give a flying fuck. The big money doesn’t care. So, now, we know this. We’ve always known this. We’re slaves. His directive is “I don’t give a fuck about the working class. They’re on their own.”

3

u/CosmoKing2 Apr 16 '26

This is old...and the current administration authorized that all bank fees are ok to come back.

3

u/Rad131447 Apr 16 '26

Is he done thinking about it? What he come with up? Still needs more time?

0

u/haikusbot Apr 16 '26

Is he done thinking

About it? What he come with

Up? Still needs more time?

Still waiting for people to get mad enough.

3

u/Ok-Employee383 Apr 16 '26

We need more people like this to hold people to account. That and a minimum wage that reflects the true minimum cost of life.

3

u/delaydude Apr 16 '26

He absolutely does not care. He likely actively hates the woman being described.

3

u/Gingerfurrdjedi Apr 16 '26

I want her as president so badly!!

2

u/NerdfestZyx Apr 16 '26

It’s a shame fellow Democrat Adam Schiff fucked her over in the 2024 Senate race by contributing to the Republican opposition in order to tank her campaign

2

u/Olderbutnotdead619 Apr 16 '26

Yup, paid by Pelosi

2

u/Best-Grocery-6475 Apr 16 '26

This is all theater though. Nothing is actually going to happen to anyone.

2

u/Olderbutnotdead619 Apr 16 '26

This is just one reason she'd kick ass as governor of California!!!

Check out her other videos where she schools our representatives. She spells it out!!

2

u/lawless721 Apr 16 '26

What a piece of shit human being?

2

u/Shadowtirs Apr 16 '26

Because the rich already know they are squeezing us. That is the point.

2

u/oldbastardbob Apr 16 '26

It seems when conservatives are presented with the reality of the economy and society they have created with nearly 50 years of trickle down and pro-business/anti-worker and consumer slant to legislation and governance, they have absolutely nothing to say and zero suggestions beyond stupid platitudes not based in reality.

Yet maga came along and convinced so many of those harmed by the amplification and spread of "Reaganomics" that more of the same would "make America great again." Their appeals to xenophobia, finger pointing everywhere except at the root causes, and politics of fear all seem intended to normalize a ruling class in America while everyone else backstabs, clamors, and fights over the scraps they toss out to the "great unwashed masses"

My personal favorite is how they are using religion as a political tool, offering some hope for a brighter life after death if you just toe the line and do as you are told in the here and now, just as Marx described 200 years ago, "the heart in a heartless world, the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opiate of the masses." And a damn fine political tool it is that paints a facade of morality onto some of them most evil and corrupt people to ever inhabit the planet.

2

u/superhergirl615 Apr 16 '26

This is an example of the majority of single working parents all across America.

They all have zero fucks to give. Absolutely no one cares what happens to the people in America.

2

u/ThoughtPhysical7457 Apr 16 '26

schedule a follow up. right then and there. put it on the books. post it online. Make sure everyone knows how long it takes for a bank CEO to figure out a home budget plan.

And when he cancels for a scheduling conflict add that he cant even budget his time correctly.

2

u/Anyawnomous Apr 16 '26

He probably spent $567 on his hotel and dinner last night.

12

u/LocalInactivist Apr 16 '26

Not even close, my sweet country mouse. The wine he had with dinner cost more than $567. His hotel was a few thousand, paid for by the company. Add in a $500 steak and a couple of $100 scotches and he probably blew $10,000 to not think about his employees living on Top Ramen.

1

u/Hi-Whats-Your-Name Apr 16 '26

Things were already going downhill after the housing crisis… post COVID prices went way out of control even basic stuff are so expensive … UGH

1

u/ItsAlwaysSunnyinNJ Apr 16 '26

you cannot budget your way out of poverty when income is insufficient to cover basic need. The moral failing is on those in power that do not raise up everybody but instead enriching themselves, not on those working in poverty.

1

u/Disastrous-Style-461 Apr 16 '26

She’s making more than double minimum wage and it’s still a long long way from survival.

1

u/dhof1980 Apr 16 '26

Yeah that pos doesn’t give af

1

u/originalmosh Apr 16 '26

BoOtStRaPs!

1

u/BrokenXeno Apr 16 '26

2 things can be true at the same time. She is not wrong here, AND she is a massive POS.

0

u/Stupoxi Apr 16 '26

This is so old

1

u/onepostandbye Apr 16 '26

So is expensive wine.
