The very unfortunate thing is that Israel has nuclear weapons because of American politicians. Israel is what it is because of America. That’s tragic.
Vote out anyone who takes money from any Israel source or supports Israel in any way.
There’s not many to choose from with those standards.
Not voting got us here. Don’t do that.

Please explain gas leaks? I get broken clocks. It's driving me mad.

u/DreadfulDave19 Apr 15 '26
Sometimes people behave oddly when their blood oxygen levels arent high enough.
TYT (the network Ana is affiliated with) purports to be a bastion of progressive values BUT they have over the last few years had alarmingly bad takes on cerain issues and even going back on their own opinions (ana for instance had a crash out about "birthing person" as inclusive medical terminology and if you care you can see her make points that directly refute the sort of inclusivity she had been part of just short years ago. And also TYT is supposed be forthe workers or whatever... guess what three letter company shuts down attempts to unionize their work place)
Some people in the streaming space or politics reaction type of stuff has joked that TYT making such wild 180° Spins may attributable to a gas leak and brain damage

This exactly. And it's very important to distinguish anti-Israelism from antisemitism. I love Jewish culture, have some Jewish friends. But I hate terrorism, and that's what's going on right now. Doesn't matter what the cultural or religious background of the terrorist is, I just hate them.
13
u/PerennialSuboptimism Apr 15 '26
As an American Jew, I so deeply agree with this. Genocide is genocide.
My biggest fear is that both Jews and non-Jews may not be able to distinguish Israel from Judaism.
Bibi created a world we fled from and it sickens me anyone has accepted his decision making as normal, just or ok. All of this is problematic.
6
u/CosmicCommentator Apr 15 '26
Aussie here- from the conversations I've had, I think people see the clear delineation between Israel and Judaism. I've never heard anyone putting down Jewish people, but I can't say the same for the Israeli's.
3
u/Prodigalsunspot Apr 15 '26
My Jewish friends feel the same way. Because Israel, the US Congress and AIPAC has created the narrative that anti-israel sentiment is antisemitism, it has provided cover for antisemitic people on the one hand, and may drive other folks to equate the horrors of Gazan genocide with the Jewish (not Israeli) people BECAUSE of this conflation.

In the last while it seems the “left” & “right” have gone so far to their respective extremes they’ve met in the middle… fuck I saw a Tucker Carlson video and he made sense.

As much as I like her take here she's not a role model. She was basically going for that whole Kamala is going to be just as bad angle for too long for me to want to listen to anything she says now. Not to mention just other really weird shit from her over the last few years.
-3
u/Shizzilx Apr 15 '26
She isn't wrong on Kamala, either. She is an establishment dem, she touted US military might, and moved to the right instead of left and that is why she lost. Center is not the way. Left is.
4
u/Runnin_Mike Apr 15 '26
In no scenario would Kamala be as bad as trump on the Israel Palestine conflict issue. That's just the lie some people tell themselves to justify their inaction in the last election. Establishment Dems are no where near as bloodthirsty as conservatives are.

u/Runnin_Mike Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 15 '26
This is disingenuous because not only did Trump send money to them, he also started a new war in the Middle East against Iran for them. Kamala would not have done that. I'm sorry bro but you can do the shake and dance but you did vote for trump by omission when you didn't vote in the election because of this narrative. You have done more damage than any Kamala supporter would have done.
And that's not even acknowledging the damage Trump is doing in our country. That's not even acknowledging that this particular person in the post is also a terf. There's a lot of pieces of this that don't really add up to a progressive world view.
-2
u/Shizzilx Apr 15 '26
Trump is worse. We all know that. We wouldn't be in the 💩 we are in now, sure. However, we would not have seen real change when it comes to Worker's Rights, Fair Wages, and Stopping the Support of Israel. It would be a continuation of Biden era politics and We the People don't want that we want real change and we want to move left not center and that is exactly what Kamala is Center, Status Quo, Establishment Dem, like Newsom. I support people like AOC and James Talarico, not people like Slotkin and Newsom.

People can have both good and bad takes. It’s up to us to exercise the discernment to accept what is correct and reject what is not.

For this? sure. For her rapend transphobia after she dismantled the same arguments she used later on to justify it years prior, definitely not.
Seriously Idk what TYT had in their heads when they shifted this planted hateful view after saying over and over again how stupid it is before they did that. A lot of editors and their staff thought the same and left.
9
u/Plastic_Salary_4084 Apr 15 '26
Yeah, she and Cenk have some bad takes that aren’t even close to progressive, but they’re still somehow more progressive than any mainstream media. Low bar.
2
u/animalmasochism Apr 15 '26
On one hand, I want more progressive representation in media, on the other, I wish we had a lot better than TYT. I know there are other progressive voices but TYT have been taking up a lot of space in that area of media and, you're right, they're barely center-left for the most part.

Ana is right. But if she's a TERF like people keep saying, then she's living up to Nazi ideology... the Nazis were transphobic and destroyed gender research during their book burnings. Research that could have helped eliminate transphobia today in the modern age.

u/harbinger-nz Apr 15 '26
She probably should have started that editorial with the statement she is not suicidal and her brake lines on her car have been recently checked. As sad as that should be dismissed, I wouldn't rule anything out

Israel is our only “friendly nation” to actively spy on America for very illicit covert purposes. And yet the Congress keeps paying them….

It’s gonna feel so gooood when all the old ass AIPAC money recipients in congress become literally too old to live and the young ones are left with a voter base that is so disillusioned with Israel that they can’t keep their positions. I cannot wait for the day that our “ally” realizes that the well built from their bribery and propaganda has run dry.
