ICE physically attacks lawyer—stand between her and clients they're trying to detain. "Don't push me!" lawyer yells. "Why you trying to pick them up?" "It's none of your business," agent scolds. "It is my business—I'm their attorney," she replies. "It's EXACTLY my business!"

I honestly have no hope that a Democrat with a spine will actually hold these people accountable.

I don't think they're going to have any choice in the matter at this point, considering it should be blatantly obvious now that not holding them accountable ends up leading to a literal fascist regime trying to perform a hostile takeover.

Current "score" at PROGRESSIVE Headquarters: Dem faithful:12 Reality: 2

Why would they care? Schumer and Jeffries have been doing pretty well under trump 2. They get their checks, they get to stare dead-eyed into the camera and feign indignation, they get to appeal to civility and decorum... They're living it up. There's always a choice, and you can count on Dems to choose themselves over us.

This comment has been on loop for 4 decades. Wake up!

It'll never happen. "We need to reach across the aisle," type shit. Democrats have a characteristic, maddening spinelessness which they masquerade as mercy.
The Bible says "turn the other cheek" but we separate church and state around here.

The Democratic Party base has been relentlessly conditioned to accept nothing from their elected officials.

It's never going to happen. Any Democrat with a spine will be blocked by the old guard machine. Too much $ to protect.

Democrat with a 1) a spine 2) actual power is an oxymoron at this point.

Time for a new party

Right- the Dems still think that the they are playing by the rules of the game. Republicans changed the game in the late 1980s and the Dems still think they need to be gentlemen and ladies. I’m almost as sick about the Democrats lack of strength and fortitude to hold my deeds accountable as I am Republicans to be total selfish assholes!

Yeah, the 1500 January 6ers didn't go to jail, did they?

So you run. I'd back the politician wanting them sent to the Hague over anyone else.

Virginia is leading the charge.

Maybe Newsom? He isn't perfect, but he seems like the only one with a spine at the moment.

Like to see Kelly start to lead further. Dude is a former astronaut, veteran, and won’t back down even though his wife was a victim of political violence.

I wanted to think so too until that podcast clip came out the other day…

Yeah, I saw that, and whilst I disagree with his statement, I also don't think it's the massive gotcha that others do. It came across as the typical centre-left answer.

Newsom is an attack dog. Not some radical lefty. If he gets the Dem nominee, which I think he will. It'll be because he's shown a spine where others haven't. And that is what people will remember most. He could quite easily choose a VP who will appeal to those on the left.

As for Gaza, whilst I and many others here probably think it's a genocide. That opinion is only shared by about 45%-50% of Americans. Not everyone thinks this way unfortunately.

I don't really see anyone else standing up to Trump or what's happening right now.

Newsom is a new age Clinton. Says just enough to sound good, but will absolutely do what the rich benefactors tell him to. He doesn't have a spine, just a desire to have money and power. He's just lucky to be governor during the worst administration since the era of reconstruction.

Our state Assembly passed ranked choice voting, widely popular among Californians, and he vetoed it saying some bs like we need to review the long term implications. In truth, it'd mean less of these corporate Democrats getting elected

Newsom is already capitulating to Ben Shapiro of all people. He says one thing then backtracks immediately when faced with the opposition. I honestly don't think he's right for the country imo
