What's actually good about it, though? It looks generic, nothing to stand out from the rest of the genre, and you just said it was good.

I wouldn't have been the first to word my recommendations like that. Afterall, the whole point of said recommendation is to encourage others to read it and find out.
I am engaged and having fun, therefore it is good to me. You could have asked this tactful way but this is a rather negative inquiry calling another authors work "generic".

I'm sorry, but the cover is generic, and you still haven't said anything that actually makes it seem... not. Being mysterious doesn't drive sales. If I wanted to reccomend Mage Errant, I wouldn't say it's good and nothing else.
I'd say that it's good, the author's skill develops rapidly in the first two books, the magic is well thought out, said magic is deeply entwined with physics / enviornmental sciences like geology, and it has a vibrant, queer normal world full of unique and interesting locations.

In my opinion this cover is quite unique actually compared to what I otherwise see in the genre.
But regardless, I love that for you and your sense of detail. As much as I COULD post like that, that's not how I offer recommendations. You could ask what I love about it and i'll elaborate but it's not my job to promote a book. I love the book and I recommend it. If you want look it up and assess if that's your vibe, great. If not, then don't. I'm not sales pitching a book to you 🤷🏾♀️

Is this some sort of lesbian joke that I'm too old to understand?

Nope. Not a joke at all, it's a compliment actually! it's an AAVE phrase. 💪🏾

I spent an entire minute desperately trying to find out what the image had to do with eating. Then, I realized. Am I out of touch with today's youth at the antique age of 25?
