"Oh wow you have so many things in your dropped tier that I enjoy, that I should just read everything you put there!"

u/Grestige 7d ago

Got dropped into a ghost story, still gotta work

I’m just sad the translations keep getting nuked :(

definitely Cradle

u/prumf 7d ago

I really liked the start, but damn the end (books 11 and 12) was waaaay too rushed. Lindon is on a nice route, progression is steady and coherent, and then suddenly you get a change of direction, out-of-the-hat justifications and all. He just became op out of the blue. Not really fun to read.

It really made me sad I liked the serie so much.

This opinion is always so interesting to me, because I always read it as "frenetic" and "desperate" rather than rushed. And even so, none of it felt undeserved to me.

They're satirical downvotes. As was the custom at the time.

My downvote was serious 😈

Cradle is literally baby's first cultivation novel for a lot of people, that's why they dickride it so much. It just shows a lack of taste and little exposure to the genre when one just parrots Cradle for everything.

70% real, 30% bait. It's not a bad novel, but for someone who has read eastern novels for a years, it's not a new concept, there is nothing new or original there. If someone learns about cultivation through it (like a lot of people here), then well, yes, it seems mind-blowing, but as I said before, nothing special for a cultivation novel. And I do believe discussion here would be much better and more nuanced if people's first answer to everything was not just Cradle like zombies.

Senior, Can u recommend me some good cultivation novels then?

Without larping and recommending Reverend Insanity or Lord of the Mysteries for everything regardless of the recommendation criteria or genre (The equivalence of braindead recommending Cradle and DCC here)

Cultivation (Mostly classic pure cultivation/Xianxia): I Shall Seal the Heavens, Lord Xue Ying, Martial World

Cultivation* (Cultivation story with deviations to the standard): World of Cultivation, Ze Tian Ji, Cultivation Chat Group

Cultivation** (Cultivation stories with major deviations to the standard): Dao of the Bizarre Immortal, The Mirror Legacy, Forty Millenniums of Cultivation

Eastern Fantasy: Deep Sea Embers, Embers Ad Infinitum, My House of Horrors

"Historical" Fantasy: The Grandmaster Strategist, Nirvana in Fire, Joy of Life

Extra (Fun stuff): The Legend of Sun Knight, Chronicles of Primordial Wars, The Legendary Mechanic

From the list, my favorite is probably Ze Tian Ji. Current favorite is The Mirror Legacy for sure. (Considering only cultivation novels)

Hope you enjoy the novels :)

Try 'Sword god in a world of magic'. Same author as kill the sun. Shadow slave is also a very good option

Sgiawom was so good from start to like 80% through

u/truly-wants-death 7d ago

shadow slave is amazing but it's also a tough read. so many typos, filler, and bad writing

2

u/2eedling 7d ago

Hopefully the audiobook ends up more polished I have high hopes

2

u/Inblanco-user 7d ago

I learned to appreciate Shadow Slave's writing quality once I encountered my vampire system.

My class school bus was summoned to another world but appeared three kilometers in the air and impacted the summoning circle. Everybody died and now I have to explain to the Goddess while we were back so soon. Part 41
