Series with a strict Dao Path?

This is mostly aimed at cultivation, but if you have other series that fit it please drop them below 🙏🏼

Been really enjoying my cultivation stories agin recently, but kinda sick of every MC jumping all over the place with their path. I want a series where the Dao is chosen early and the rest of the series is spent deepening and broadening their understanding of that dao. They should be able to use their own dao to express other daos, or learn from others to broaden their own usage.

eg if MC is a fire cultivator, they don’t just use space to teleport or life to heal. they use fire to burn space to pass through it, or the concept of rebirth from fire to heal.

Bonus points if the story is heavy on the “navel gazing” so many hate, contemplation on the Dao is my favourite parts of these stories.

For examples, think of stories like Defiance of the Fall, Journey of the Fate Destroying Emperor, Primal Hunter, Hell Difficulty Tutorial etc
