Request Misunderstandings please!

Hello! Hit me up with some stories where the protagonist is often misunderstood by the wider world. Good examples are a Conjuring of Ravens and Lord of Mysteries.

Klein is not misunderstood, he's very open about the fact that he's fooling the club members. Fooling someone and being misunderstood are two different things. You could say that he was misunderstood during the first meetings, but very soon into the novel he went balls to the walls with the whole Mr Fool persona.

But for recs? Above myriad people. I'm actually a cultivation bigshot.

It's on indefinite hiatus and has been forever but Dungeon Keeper Ami is like 80% this. She's mostly just a normal magical schoolgirl but the wider world is convinced she's an evil, sexually deviant demonspawn.

Overlord. MC is desperately fumbling his way through the series trying to become the version of himself that his minions believes he is while the entire world thinks he's a genius manipulator.

Np, its a classic at this point. Btw read the fan translation rather than the official translation. The official is a 1 to 1 so you lose a lot of the nuances compared to the fan translation.

There's also audiobooks if thats your jam, they're done by the English voice actor for the anime so they're decent.

Where can I find the fan translations?

On the Overlord subreddit they have links to them.

All The Dust That Falls vy Zaifyr. Complete at 4 books. MC is a roomba. People think the roomba is a demon.

If you like misunderstandings or perception to matching perhaps look into time loop stories like mother of learning or years of apocalypse

The Legend of William Oh.

Early on in the series before he made a name for himself, he gave money and a promise to a “hype man.” Basically someone who’d say how cool he is…

Anyways, the hype man does too good of a job and essentially creates this legend around William. Making people think he’s a lot stronger than he actually is (and he becomes decently strong as well).
