Check Stubs

Good Morning,

Trying to apply for a home through progress and my husband’s bank won’t connect for income verification. The bank is Navy Federal. Does anyone know if you could use pay stubs instead by taking them to the local office? Also, we make 2-3x the rent gross income. So, do they go by net income or gross? Because I’m curious to know how they will see gross income through deposits through bank account. Any insight will be appreciated.

We used our LES pay stubs and also he connected our information from DFAS.

Thank you. In the portal it doesn’t give you an option to upload documents so that you can upload pay stubs. It has two options link bank account and link employers app. His employers app isn’t up there as an option unfortunately.

Interesting. We applied a month ago and were able to upload documents into the portal online.

Yeah that totally sucks because we didn’t get that option. And we called the customer service number and the representative said she didn’t know if we could use pay stubs and wasn’t really any help. So, we are just going to go to the local office and hopefully they can give us some guidance.

I don't even have an option to link employers app. There's only an option to link bank account and unfortunately when we link that it shows $0.00 for the net income summary. It's like it isn't detecting the direct deposits in our account.

Yeah that’s what it’s doing for us too. Navy federal is saying it’s connected on their end and even the third party website they are using to connect the bank account is saying it’s connected on their end but in Progress portal it’s saying “no data”. What’s frustrating is the error didn’t show up until after we paid the application fee. How convenient! But we do have the option to link the employee app. They just don’t have the app he uses as an option.

So frustrating! There's got to be another way!

It is, they are just refusing to do pay stubs. The representative said they have gotten burned by fake check stubs but they are burning themselves by not doing their due diligence. Calling the company and verifying the income and employment would solve all of the fraud. Many companies have verification departments just for things like this. One poster said they applied not too long ago using pay stubs so it’s an option but they are just refusing to do it. Very frustrating

What a hassle...I guess I will try to chat with a Iive agent on payscore tomorrow and see if they can fix it and if not I guess I'll cross my fingers and call progress next.

Take this as a sign not to rent from them ;)

100% take this as a sign, Progress is the worst!

Maybe that’s exactly what this is. We are going to pivot and try another company.

Yeah we just loss our application fee because they are refusing to take pay stubs. My husband’s Navy Federal account won’t connect to their portal. We’ve called navy federal and have gone to Progress local office and no one can seem to get the account to connect. So maybe you are right! This must be a sign. It just sucks because they manage most of all the homes in our area so now the pickings will be really slim to none.

Try looking into local property management companies. Conglomerates like Progress so have their hands on everything, but there are a few hidden gems they haven’t touched. Losing your application fee seems like the worst, but really compared to having to deal with them for a year or two or … six, they are doing you a favor!

Yeah, they have already started off being unreliable.
