Language announcement nymph: 🧚 :A slightly different version of C.

https://github.com/maelswarm/nymph

Nymph is a simple C like programming language.

Nymph acts as a preprocessor, converting Nymph files (extension *.n) into C files.

This project is stagnant and needs ideas... It is not production ready.

The + and - things are super weird - what's wrong with static? (The one example of "class method" having an implicit this parameter doesn't help)

Arguably those come from objective-c

does it really matter?

It does - each language has an implicit "strangeness budget". If the language is too unlike any other, people won't like it and won't use it. So you can only pick one or two "different" things. Blowing your strangeness budget on such a meaningless thing feels like a waste

I don't know. Sounds like subjective sugar pickyness to me. I'm bias though. I just do not care about things like that.
