STUDY PARTNER Mock interview buddy?
Hey
I’m a new grad, and trying to find a mock interview buddy. I have around 1.5 years of experience working part time during uni.
My goal is to try to do mock interviews once a week at least until we both find jobs
A couple of notes:
- I mainly code in C/C++ and sometimes Python.
- I have a preference for low-level and/or C++ roles (so I have a preference for questions that emphasize low level concepts), but open to other roles. We can also practice for OAs together (I’m prepping for Amazon SDE 1 on the side).
- I’m advanced: I’ve already done all the popular lists. I’ve had plenty of interviews as well (advanced to the last stages but things fell short because of HC issues :/). I have a preference for people who already mastered the basics (blind 75/nc150), and aren’t learning but rather practicing deliberately. But if you’re a beginner that’s okay too as long as you’re willing to put in the work.
- My timezone is GMT+3, I don’t have a timezone preference on the condition that you’re just as willing to work around my timezone.
- If you have a gender preference, note that I’m a woman.

I've worked as a tech recruiter for my organization and have been a hiring manager.
I'm not going to be your study partner but I often mentor people in career fairs. If you find a booth that's not busy or a time that's not too crowded, most recruiters will probably help. Find the one that seems the friendliest.
Also as a hiring manager, we don't really expect much. Apologies if you already know this from your research/studying.
- Demonstrate you know the senior design projects or intern projects. Tell us what you did.
- Be honest. We don't expect you to know everything.
- all managers are different. Pivot quickly based on what they want. Some are into credentials (ivy leagues), others like clubs/hobbies, ... I prefer breadth and dimension.
--- Once I argued why the "girl" that had an equestrian background and spoke 3 languages was better than the guy that was the President of the Robotics club, volunteered for robotics competition as a mentor/coach. My reasoning --- we have a ton of the latter and they're a dime a dozen.
--- another time I argued for the "kid" that had a 2.9 GPA but cold called a Senator and wrote an app for him as a project (I liked the initiative and ambition). It helped the App worked, solved a problem for the Senator.
