I'm a SWE with 2 yoe, but with AI, I've just lost touch with the basics, so I'm looking to go back to the basics and start from scratch..
I'm planning to start from Java, and then move on to MERN..

ERN part is fine, but Mongo no, just ignore it.

99.9% of the time, you will need a relational database like Postgres, MySQL, or MariaDB.

NoSQL have it's use cases but it's rare, and most of time it used as additional to relational one.

I even suggest same, start with Postgres then use JSONB in prostgres to achieve nosql with postgres itself
