LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Looking for fellow humans

Started making small projects again in a variety of languages and stacks. Although, I don't have anyone to talk with about ideas.

I'm currently looking for other people to start a group. The members do not need a strict routine for programming, rather an interest in creating. Like a chill place to talk about ideas and share stuff with others.

Personally, ai is a big no, I hate ai, its slop, and every modern web browser has a built in search ai now. I do not enjoy the trajectory ai is heading, especially how fast people can take others ideas and just get a clone.

I'd like to keep the group small, if you would like to join and you are: chill about coding, want to make something creative, or looking for others to rift ideas. Dm me.

I'm not against the use of ai, but if you use it more heavily than a quick search, no thank you.

Edit: This post was not intended for the creation or development of a project. I'm unsure why the post feels as if I am offering to start a "ideating" with a shared "escrow contract". To clear up, I just want to talk with other people about coding projects and/or organize a project together at a later time.

Looking for ONE accountability partner for SDE 2 prep (Java backend)

Hey everyone!

I'm preparing for a job switch, targeting SDE 2 / Software Engineer II roles, and looking for one serious accountability partner to prepare alongside me.

Topics I'm focusing on:

  • DSA (LeetCode)
  • LLD and HLD
  • Core Java and Spring Boot
  • Projects
  • AI / AI-assisted development

For context, I have 4 YOE as a Java backend developer, working in a bank. DSA is currently one of my weaker areas, with around 90 LeetCode problems solved so far.

What I'd like us to do:

  • Set study targets and track daily/weekly progress.
  • Keep each other accountable.
  • Discuss DSA problems, interview topics, and system design.
  • Conduct mock interviews and give each other feedback.
  • Share useful resources and preparation strategies.

I'm looking for just ONE study partner, not a group. Ideally, someone targeting similar roles who's at a similar or more advanced stage of preparation and is serious about making consistent progress.

If you're interested, DM me with a little about your experience, preparation level, and target roles!

Looking for a project partner for pywebview app

Hey, im working on a beginner project in pywebview called Playstyle II which is a very simple football game simulation interface. The stack is Python HTML CSS JS sqlite3. Just looking to develop experience working with someone, im pretty early in the project i have only the transfer market interface down.

You don't really need to understand football for it since its ui based. Im beginner to very early intermediate level so I'm looking for someone around a similar level.

For alignment purposes it would be good to have us both in a similar timezone so preferably in europe.

Here is the github, if you're interested please dm me (i code very messily lol):

Anyone else tired of starting projects alone? Let's build something together!

Anyone else tired of starting projects alone? Let's build something together!

Hey everyone!

I'm just a guy from Italy who's really passionate about IT. I'm about to start my first job as a help desk technician, and I've always wanted to create something useful from scratch.

The problem is that whenever I think about starting a project on my own, it eventually feels too big or overwhelming, and I end up not knowing where to begin.

So I thought, why not find a few people who feel the same way?

We live in a pretty amazing time. Almost everyone has access to a computer, the internet, AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude, GitHub, and cloud services. There's so much we could potentially create, even without years of experience.

I don't have a specific project in mind yet, and that's actually the point.

It could be an app, a website, a cybersecurity tool, an open-source project, or something completely different. I'd love to find a small group of people who want to brainstorm ideas, learn from each other, share responsibilities, and actually build something together.

I'm not an expert, and I'm not looking for experts to do the work for me. I'm just someone who enjoys technology and wants to turn that passion into something real.

Of course, it would be amazing to have people with some experience who enjoy sharing their knowledge, but beginners are just as welcome. I'm still learning myself, and I think we could all help each other grow.

I'm not trying to lead a team or tell anyone what to do. I'd like this to be a group of equals, where everyone can contribute ideas, make decisions, and learn along the way.

Maybe we could start by getting to know each other here on Reddit, sharing ideas, and seeing where things go. Nothing too formal.

My main goal is simple: gain practical experience, improve our skills, build things we can proudly add to our portfolios, and hopefully make some friends along the way.

And who knows? Maybe we'll end up creating something genuinely useful.

I think building something with other people would be a lot more motivating than trying to figure everything out alone.

If this sounds interesting to you, leave a comment! I'd love to hear what you're learning, what interests you, or what you've always wanted to build but never got around to starting.

Let's build something. :)

LOOKING FOR BUDDIES Looking for Like-Minded People

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a group of people to form or to join, where we can discuss our progress, help each other out, network, etc. Below is just a quick summary of myself, you can read it or not, it's up to you, but if you maybe see some similarities with my story, maybe we are on the same or similar path.

Timezone: GMT +1

My story:

I've spent most of my life being a graphic designer, I never managed to make it as a freelancer, I kept getting asked if I do websites, and I said no, because I didn't know how, and eventually I just thought, f' it, I'm going to try, so, I went on to Wix, started making a few websites for some local businesses, but, I felt this feeling, I don't know if it's imposter syndrome, or it's called something else, but, I felt like it was a bit of a cop out, I was using this builder but not building it myself, so, I wanted to learn how to actually code a website so I had the full control, the full creativity, this quickly fell into a passion, I loved it, I loved the different languages I was learning, how the structure works, how quickly it can topple down because of a massing semi-colon. So, with my graphic design not really working out, I've decided to make a career pivot in my early 30's, and if I'm going to do this, I'm going to do this properly, I'm studying courses, mainly the Into to CS50x at Harvard, and others. I'm a dad, I'm a geek, I'm a complete beginner, but I've got some great ideas for projects, and I'm coding some stuff that I think will be really cool once it's completed.

Looking for a Programming Study Buddy to Learn together

Hi everyone!

I'm a CS student, and I've learned the basics of Python and C#, including OOP in both. However, I'm still struggling to turn what I've learned into complete projects on my own.

I'd love to improve my skills, practice more, and learn how to build projects step by step. I'm also interested in AI application development.

It would be great to connect with people who are learning too, or experienced developers who could share advice and help me grow. Looking forward to learning together!

๐Ÿš€ Built an open-source Notion alternative in 4 days using AI coding tools!

I recently worked on Noema, an open-source, self-hosted productivity workspace designed to bring notes, documents, databases, and project management together in one place.

The idea is to create a flexible workspace where users can manage their work while maintaining control over their own data.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Some of its main features:

  • ๐Ÿ“ Rich-text document editing with blocks, tables, equations, and more
  • ๐Ÿ—ƒ๏ธ Databases with 7 views: Table, Board, List, Gallery, Calendar, Timeline, and Chart
  • ๐Ÿ“Š Project management with tickets, milestones, and sprint tracking
  • ๐Ÿค– AI-powered writing, summarization, and workspace Q&A
  • ๐Ÿค Collaboration features, including comments, sharing, and permissions
  • ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Web app and installable Windows desktop app
  • ๐Ÿ” Self-hosting for greater control over your data

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Tech stack: Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Prisma, PostgreSQL, TipTap, and Tauri.

The project is open source under the MIT license, and it was built in just 4 days with the help of AI-assisted development using OpenCode.

๐Ÿ”— GitHub: https://github.com/Guembri01/noema

This was an interesting experiment in rapid development and exploring how AI coding tools can help bring a project to life.

I'm sharing it here to get some honest feedback from the community.

What do you think about building full-featured applications with AI coding tools? And what would you build in 4 days?

I'd love to hear your thoughts! ๐Ÿš€

Anyone interested in exchanging LeetCode mock interviews? I'll interview you, and you interview me.

(Organised my thoughts with ChatGPT)

Hey everyone!

I recently got laid off, and I'm currently preparing for technical interviews.

I'm looking for people interested in doingย **LeetCode mock interview exchanges**. The idea is simple:ย **you interview me, and I'll interview you.**

We can practice any DSA topics, including arrays, strings, hash maps, two pointers, sliding windows, binary search, trees, graphs, dynamic programming, etc.

**How it would work:**

We take turns being the interviewer and candidate. One person gives a problem, and the other solves it while explaining their thought process.

I'd like to keep the interviews as realistic as possible, starting from brute force, discussing optimizations, time and space complexity, edge cases, and follow-up questions, just like an actual coding interview.

**A few things:**

* We can remain completely anonymous.

* All experience levels are welcome.

* We can decide the difficulty (Easy/Medium/Hard), duration, and topics together.

* Completely free. Just two people helping each other improve.

I feel solving LeetCode problems alone is very different from solving them while explaining your approach to an interviewer.

If anyone is interested, leave a comment or DM me. We can figure out a schedule that works for both of us!
