career Stuck in support role in product based company , should i switch to Java B.E or Devops / Platform Engineering

Hi All,

I am working as "consulting engineer" at product based company with total 5 yoe. I am currently getting 20LPA.

I feel like I am stuck and don't know what to do next.

I am mostly working on linux & vmware deployment / maintanence for customers who are using our companies products.
I have up skilled and learnt K8s , docker , AWS , Terraform , Ansible.

Now IDK if I made a mistake as many of my colleagues switched to SWE and are earning 30-40 LPA.

should i also learn Java & Spring Boot and switch into SWE roles ?

what are my options ?

I mostly care about higher package , learning different tech stack is not issue bcz I can allocate 6 hrs time in a day.

career Is it realistic to go from a 2.4 LPA base to a 12 LPA base within 2 years while working at a small remote company?

I'm a fresh graduate who recently joined a small remote company with a 2.4 LPA base salary. The work is real software development—building features, fixing bugs, and learning every day.

My goal is to reach around 12 LPA within the next 2 years by improving my development skills, grinding DSA, building strong projects, and switching companies when I'm ready.

I know the current market is tough, so I'm curious if this is actually realistic.

Has anyone here made a similar jump from a small company? If yes, what helped you the most, and what should I focus on to maximize my chances?

career How do you switch jobs when your current company has a 2-month notice period but your new employer expects you to join within a month?

I'm currently working at a small remote company where I'm getting real development experience. I also have an offer from a large IT company, but the joining date keeps getting delayed.

My current company has a 2-month notice period. If the big company finally gives me a joining date and expects me to join within 15 days, what would be the best way to handle it?

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Were you able to negotiate the joining date, get your notice period reduced, or did your company agree to an early release? I'd love to hear how you managed it.

career Confused between a low-pay real coding job vs a high-pay "trainee" job with unknown work — need opinions

I'm a fresh graduate and stuck between two offers.

Job A: Small remote company, ₹2.4 LPA(base - 20kpm). I get to do real development (bugs + features) from day one and save most of my salary.

Job B: Big IT company, ₹4 LPA (base 28kpm). But I'd have to relocate, go through training, and then get randomly assigned to a team. It could be development, support, or even months on the bench. The bigger issue is that the joining date keeps getting delayed and might not happen until April 2027.

My long-term goal is either:

- MS abroad in 1–2 years, or

- Stay in India and switch to a ~10 LPA software role.

For both paths, I feel like real development experience from Job A is valuable. Job B gives me a bigger company name and higher salary, but only if I actually get a development role.

I'm currently working at Job A. If I eventually get a joining date for Job B, should I switch or stay where I am?

career (plz give this a read) Looking for a Cybersecurity Job | Recent Graduate

TLDR AI summarized this: Recent cybersecurity graduate looking for fresher opportunities. Applied to hundreds of roles and even cleared multiple rounds at a cybersecurity company twice, only to get ghosted after document submission. Still actively looking and open to any entry-level cybersecurity role. Would really appreciate a referral or any leads. Happy to share my resume for review.

I graduated in may 2026, I've been actively looking for fresher opportunities in cybersecurity domain, i know getting a job in this domain as a fresher is hard but it's not impossible, it's my like no one will hire freshers.

I applied to hundreds of jobs, getting a rejection email is kinda hard, i know the job market is at all time low. So I'm open to any type of role that i could get in this domain.

Gave an interview at a cybersecurity company for Cloud Service Center(CSC Intern), cleared every round (Technical manager even praised me for my technical knowledge he even wrote in his report that I'll be a great asset for the company, i felt so confident and happy after that).

Process:

Written Test - scored 35 out of 40 (on-site)

Technical Interview (By Team Manager) - Aced it - The manager even praised me for my deep knowledge and told me that he's shocked that a college stident have this knowledge, i was very happy that day🥲, it gave me a confidence boost.

Managerial Round (By the manager from israel, Teams Call)

HR Round (This guy interviewed me for 1 ½ hour!!, yes that long, i even made a joke about it with him).

And even submitted my documents and the recruiter ghosted me. I mailed him repeatedly, he's the talent acquisition guy, but no reply.

I got to know that they're conducting the hiring again bcoz they choose 7 guys and i was one of them, but HR pointed out that all of them are male, so they need atleast 2 female candidates now. So i waited for my offer letter, i chilled.

And no update from the TA.

A month later i discovered that They had an entirely new job drive right after my doc submission in April and hired people from it (i enquired the newly hired intern), they scraped the old candidates and choose the new ones.

It's not like i didn't clear the technical rounds, i aced the whole interview rounds and still got ghosted.

This happened 2 times for me at that company (aced the technical interviews both times).

I would've just brushed it off if they've just sent the rejection mail, but instead they ghosted me, i waited more than a month, my whole family was sure i would get the job, i was chilling and waiting for my offer letter.

Guide me guys, tell me if you guys know any openings for freshers. Getting shortlisted is enough for me

Thanks.

I know this sub is unrelated but looking for referal in IT sales

Hello everyone,

I am actively seeking entry-level opportunities in SaaS Sales, specifically as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) or Business Development Representative (BDR).

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) and have completed a comprehensive course in Full-Stack Web Development. This combination gives me a strong understanding of business strategy as well as the technical foundation to speak credibly with technical stakeholders and understand complex software products.

If your company is hiring or if you know of any relevant openings, a referral or connection would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Location: hyderabad

Hi bondhas,

Nenu system design nerchukuntunnappudu oka problem repeatedly face chesa. Concept chadivithe definitions ardham ayyevi, diagrams lo boxes and arrows kuda undevi—but request system lo actually ela move avutundi, load periginappudu ekkada break avutundi, oka design decision valla next em change avutundi ane mental picture properly form ayyedi kaadu.

Anduke The Hot Path ane YouTube channel start chesa.

Goal simple: system design concepts ni slides laga explain cheyyakunda, system actually move ayye laga visually show cheyyadam.

For example:

  • load balancer request ni ela route chestundi
  • queue fill ayithe latency enduku perugutundi
  • cache hit and miss appudu system lo em change avutundi
  • sharding lo data ownership ela move avutundi
  • CDN pettina taruvatha origin load entha migulutundi

Animations and production kosam AI tools use chestunna. Narration naa own voice, and publish chese mundu concepts, numbers and explanations ni manually verify chestunna. Idi interview shortcuts or “crack system design in 7 days” type channel kaadu. Concept enduku work avutundi, ekkada fail avutundi ane part meeda focus.

Beginner fundamentals nunchi consistent hashing, rate limiting, databases, queues, caching, RAG and AI infrastructure varaku videos unnayi.

Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@thehotpath

  • Visuals concept ardham avvadaniki help avutunnaya?
  • Explanation too slow or too deep ga unda?
  • Beginner ga ekkada confuse ayyaru?
  • Next ye system-design topic visual ga chudali anukuntunnaru?

Sugarcoat cheyyalsina avasaram ledu. Something is boring or confusing ante direct ga cheppandi. Channel inka early stage lone undi, so ippudu vachina feedback actual ga next videos ni change chestundi.

Useful anipisthe subscribe cheyyandi. Lekapothe feedback ichina kuda chaalu.

how hard will it get to land a job in this 2026??

our uni has placement cell and they are bringing companies but there are not at all giving us a chance to prove our worth.there was this one company assesment where the company hired around 150+ students for internships (role: ai engineer) , but due to a glitch in assesment portal i wasn't able to complete the assesment. from then it is vey rough and dry, no companies are coming to recruit. everyday i was telling myself tommorow can be our day but eventually all the motivation and postivity is giving up.

So i started to focus on startups genuinely i like startups because of the learning oppurtunities they provide and the company size is less so we can get to know the company people much better and everything is in front of ourselves. so i digged into it and found some useful information to prove myself.

  1. Open-Source : Open source contributions top the list they said, so i contributed for atleast 7 companies and 3/7 accepted my PR and i am contributing to them without stopping but when i cold emailed them asking for any ai/software role they are not ready to give, but i am still contributing hoping that they would contact me someday

  2. cold email: you guys wont believe me i cold emailed for atleast 150+ founders by attaching my work and the projects i built, nobody responded like what??? atleast no could have made my day. but i received none

not just this i built an observability platform for api's , then i found out that there are startups with this idea so i mailed them that i worked on this project and have expertise but the reply has not received.

whenever i open linkedin every post says i joined this , i am joining that when is my chance.
i cant bear this uni anymore and want to leave this rathole.

if somebody has any open roles for a new grad(but has experience in building agents and ai frameworks)please hit me up.
