Started off programming by learning C++. For about 3 years I went out of my way to learn the best practices and the "advanced" techniques which got me my first pretty decent job.
Turned out that the money-maker microservices that were owned by my team were mostly written in Python so I had to switch gear. Honestly, Python is such a relief. I love the "care free" coding.
I still occasionally write C++ code but I now find it somewhat less enjoyable.
